May 2020- The Known vs. The Unknown, Finding Your Center, Mystical Mutable Madness

Welcome to May 2020! We are almost half way through the year, how is that so? May 2020 promises to be another active month. A lot of this activity will be felt internally, as 3 planets( Venus, Jupiter and Saturn) all turn retrograde. Going within and: re-directing, reflecting, and revising our intentions and plans will be the themes for this gorgeous month.

We begin the month on May 5-6th, with the North and South Nodes, leaving the signs of Cancer and Capricorn and moving into the signs of Gemini and Sagittarius. The North and South Nodes are fated, elliptical points on the moon’s axis. The nodes shift signs every 18 months, propelling us to new collective: events, lessons and tests. The North node represents: where we are headed, destiny, fate and the unknown. The South node represents: where we have been, the past, what is familiar and known. As the North Node moves into the sign of Gemini, our focus be directed to: communication, local travel, curiosity, getting down to the details and learning. As the South Node moves into Sagittarius, there will be tests and major releases among: big minded thinking, international travel, secondary education and faith. Wherever Gemini and Sagittarius are located in your natal chart is where a lot of fated and karmic lessons will be activated for the next year and a half. The last time the North and South Nodes were in the signs of Gemini/Sagittarius was from October 2001- April 2003. You might want to look back to events from around that time, as you might see similar themes and situations re-occur.

On May 7th, we have the Full Moon in Scorpio at 18 degrees. Full Moons herald: completions, manifestations and endings. Scorpio, the 8th zodiac sign, deals with: death/rebirth, power, transformation and shared resources. The Full Moon in Scorpio will prompt an awakening of how we cultivate our power, and allow things to die in our lives, so new foundations can be born. This deep and watery full moon will ask that you release and allow for transformation to occur. Projects and plans that involve shared resources could be highlighted and the universe is asking us to get comfy with letting go and allowing divine to take the wheel. A hidden source of power will emerge that has previously never been seen. All we have to do is trust and a super power will be born from within.

The mid month is quite active with a flurry of planets moving retrograde. Retrograde planets are all about: re-doing, reflecting, re-vising and going within.

On May 12/13th, Venus, the planet of: love, beauty and pleasure, turns retrograde in the sign of Gemini, before moving direct on June 26th. Every 18 months, Venus turns retrograde and our shift moves to reflect the inner lessons within: love, self- worth, money and pleasure. Venus retrograde in Gemini will bring a heightened focus to how we communicate our love and affection to others and how willing we are to learn from these experiences. There is a light and breezy energy to the air sign of Gemini and lots of curious love situations could play out at this time. This is a great transit to go and learn a fun new skill or take up an old hobby that has long been forgotten. Also, like any retrograde experience, lovers and friends could return from the past, with little to no warning, lol.

On May 20th, the Sun, which rules our: ego, vitality and life force shifts from the earthy sign of Taurus, into the air sign of Gemini. We now move from more practical and rational thinking over to curiosity and flexible ways of being. Two days later on May 22nd, the moon, becomes new at 2 degrees of Gemini. New Moons herald: fresh starts, initiations and beginnings. Gemini, the 3rd zodiac sign, deals with: communication, learning, curiosity, play and child like wonder. The New Moon in Gemini will be a time where we can begin new exciting plans around business endeavors and educational pursuits. Our minds will be quite active and a renewed sense of wonder and intrigue will prevail. This is a great new moon to begin a project that requires a lot of attention to detail and a sense of play and malleability.

May 2020 is a month of many shifts and turns. As we all have become quite accustomed to life’s shifts and changes, this month, will ask us to remain grounded yet open. There is so much beauty to be discovered when we slow down and take it moment by moment. A lot of lessons and past events could re surface this month, so its best to take it one step at a time and remember to be extra gentle and understanding with yourself. May 2020 promises to bring: an inner awakening to our strength and power, reflections on who + what we truly love and the belief that even after the biggest storm comes the sun to greet us again.

~ FULL MOON in SCORPIO ~ May 18, 2019


May 18th brings the Full Moon in Scorpio. This Full Moon is considered a Seasonal Blue Moon, as it is the fourth Full Moon following the Equinox.

Traditionally, the Scorpio Full Moon is considered one of the most powerful for releasing, cleansing, and transforming your life. This is because Scorpio is the sign that rules over death, rebirth, and spiritual transformation.

Under the light of the Blue Scorpio Full Moon, we are all going to be beckoned to think about where we can peel back the layers to reveal more of our true authentic self.

Rays of blue moonlight are going to pierce our masks, our heavy coats, our burdens, and help us to release and shed them to the ground.

We no longer need to carry them. We no longer need to block ourselves from living up to the truth of who we really are. Take a deep breath and give yourself permission to let it all go.

Make the time to retreat within, to the stillness of your inhale and exhale, where releasing happens. There, allow yourself to peel back the layers. Allow yourself to let it all go. You deserve to let it all go.

All Full Moons are a powerful time of releasing and letting go, but the Scorpio Full Moon is a time where we can get deep with ourselves, and figure out what is holding us back, what is paining us, and what we need to clear in order to live up to our fullest potential.

What does it look like when you are living up to the fullest of your potential? What does it look like when you start living from a space of true authenticity? Who do you become?

These are the questions the Scorpio Full Moon is exploring, and while they may not all be answered in a day, you can start laying the foundation under this energy.

While this energy is asking us to think about our direction and the path we are walking on, we are going to have to get deeper with this.

Scorpio energy is not concerned with what you do, but rather how you do what you do.

Your soul came into this life with a plan, but this plan didn’t contain human ideals or human conditions. Your soul didn’t map out what job it was going to take, what boyfriend it was going to date, your soul is beyond these things.

Your soul came to learn, to experience, to feel, to teach, but most importantly, your soul came for adventure. And it is up to you, to figure out what adventure you wish to take it on. It is up to you to take your soul on the ride of its life.

Your soul knows that no matter the path, the choices, the actions, or the decisions you make, it is only what YOU make of it that matters.

There are no wrong paths in this life. In fact, every experience both good, bad, big, or small is always nudging you back onto your path and back into alignment.

In this world, there are no wrong turns, just choices that you get to make every single day.

Neither is better than the other, it is all a choice that you simply get to make.

There is a heavy energy around this Full Moon that will be drawing us in and asking us to listen to the depths of our heart and soul.

We are going to have to be gentle and patient with ourselves, and allow the magic of the Moon to do its work.

If you simply take a moment to get still, the Moon will guide you to what you need to release, so you can become more of who you really are, free from the shackles of society, of thoughts, and of expectations.

You are more powerful, more beautiful, more successful, more intelligent, more wonderful than you realize. You are more in tune with your soul than you realize. So trust the wisdom, trust the still, quiet voice that emerges when you tune in.

The answers you seek are not outside of you, they are not necessarily big or grand, the answers your heart and soul give to you are the pure and simple truths that often get lost along the way.

The pure and simple truths of who we are, our purpose, our soul plan, greet us in the everyday.

Our life is not really about the big grand moments, it is about the small stuff that happens when we are busy making other plans.

When we focus on the small, the bigger things seem to take care of themselves. So, while you are pondering your path and how to step into the fullness of your being, start with the smaller things.

Start with the everyday things, start with the things you spend the most time doing, and see how that helps to slowly transform your world from the inside out.

In a world that is always focused on the having of more and more, we so easily overlook the magic of the every day. It is up to us to find the truth in this, and to find the miracles and gratitude in the everyday things.

The May Full Moon is a tender, yet powerful one. This is a time for us to explore the alchemy of transformation, this is a time for us to focus not on what we are doing, but how we are doing it and to remember that we are always on the right path.

Greetings Divine Beings!

We’re now approaching the full moon in Scorpio…da da da duuuuum! A lot of people fear Scorpio (whether that’s Scorpio transits or Scorpio people crossing their path.) So if you suspect you’re one of them, read my tips below for how to ride the dragon that is Scorpio.

We’re now approaching full moon. This is the time of the monthly cycle when we feel high – emotionally, energetically & psychologically as the lunar energy increases. Full moon is the zenith of all that has been before. It’s a time of union & communion, an opportunity to heal the polarisation of opposites if we apply the strengths of the sun & moon signs.

This full moon occurs in the sign of Scorpio opposite the sun in Taurus. This is the fertile polarity of water & earth, giving us the opportunity to soften & create if we can navigate a balanced path between our emotions & our values. 

Some of you may witness how conflict over resources & money can tear families apart. (My grandmother’s will is up for probate this week after a year of witnessing my paternal line’s money & power issues!) The lesson is ultimately to resolve our emotional wounds or we risk destroying all we seek to create.

Unresolved issues may intensify as we approach full moon, bringing them to a head to be resolved. The key to ensuring inner calm is to be receptive to the illumination of the feminine within & without.

Archetypal Energy: Lilith, the Wild Woman
Lesson: The Power of Truth to Transform Us

Scorpio stings us with the bitter truth like the kiss of the spider woman who names that which we don’t see in ourselves which has the power to destroy us. This catalyst sends our ego to the Underworld, the original ‘man cave’ that is the subterranean cosmic womb of the Great Mother deep within our psyche.

The more integrated our shadow side (that being our disowned traits) the more mature we become & the less drama we unwittingly create. 

Mars (sub-ruler of Scorpio) conjunct Pluto (ruler of Scorpio) on April 26 is likely to intensify our fight with our darkest fears so harness this energy by invoking the courage of the sacred warrior to confront the fight within so you don’t simply act out if triggered & react with aggression. Pluto being retrograde will assist with this. Scorpio asks us to be willing to die – on every level except physically. To surrender our plans to a higher power, to release all that dishonours our values & to relinquish security that compromises our integrity & inner power. 

The key to our transformation is within the inner realm, known by the indigenous as ‘The Dreaming’ or ‘Dreamtime’. Why? This full moon forms a trine aspect to Neptune, planet of dreams & the inner world in it’s home sign Pisces. So the challenge posed is ‘Do you have the courage to pursue your dreams…the urgings of your Soul so your outer life & your inner life are in complete alignment?’

A Time of Initiation

The archetypal energy evoked by full moon in Scorpio is that of the Goddess of death & rebirth. She who initiates through sex magic & blood mysteries. You may know her as Kali Ma in the Hindu pantheon or Lilith in the Hebraic tradition…or Oya (African), Sekhmet (Egyptian) or Medusa (Greek). With serpents for hair & a penetrating gaze that will see through you this feminine aspect is the stuff of patriarchal nightmares…not a beauty pageant winner that’s for sure!

Her priestesses were known as red dakinis (Tantric priestesses who initiated men) or Magdalenes (also known as Dragon Women who were the keepers of the Graal – those who taught the lunar blood wisdom to midwife their communities through their life transitions) so they could live in right relationship with the wheel of death & rebirth, the circle of life.

Synchronistically I felt called to re-watch the film, Avatar this week. There’s a scene where the male protagonist must face his fear in order to fly with a dragon. He must choose her & she must choose him. He asks, ‘How will I know if she’s chosen me?’ The answer: ‘She will try to kill you.’ 

This sums up the energy of the dark feminine which Scorpio personifies beautifully. To match the power of the dragon woman one must find their own power source by reconnecting with the Earth Mother & feeling her complete acceptance & unconditional love. Only when our roots are deep in union with the Mother can we choose love & growth over fear & contraction. Only then can one risk external rejection (the death of one’s ego) & be seen in their naked vulnerability (soul). Anything less & she’ll eat you for breakfast. For her role is to be the gatekeeper of Eden, stripping bare those who aren’t true of heart. 

So let it be known brothers & sisters as we approach this full moon women & feminine dominant men will be embodying this energy & seeking to destroy the ego of the men & masculine dominant women around them.

Remember, there is no higher power than truth. The light of truth will pierce the dark & heal it like a Cancer that threatens to destroy the sacredness of creation. Alternatively, the dark forces will prevail & the messenger will be shot & outcast for trying to wake others up from their sleep state. 

The latter has been the status quo for the past 5000 years for without our original human rites (of passage) the dark feminine has been misunderstood & scapegoated. Without her bitter medicine of truth the immature masculine sabotages what the feminine seeks to create & nurture to grow.

So our challenge in these transition times is to embody the totemic medicine of peacock / phoenix & transmute the venom of the bite we receive into greater self-awareness… rather than running to the hills screaming, ‘that bloody woman!’ or preparing for a bloody battle. Instead, take it as a compliment that this female compadre believes in your ability to shed your false self, your armour & stand naked in truth with her.
