On October 4th, Pluto, the planet of: death/rebirth, power and intensity, turns direct at 22 degrees of Capricorn. Capricorn, the 10th zodiac sign, is known to rule: structures, obligations, boundaries and control.

On June 17/18th, Mercury, the planet of: communication, the mind and our intellect, turns retrograde at 14 degrees of Cancer. Cancer, the 4th zodiac sign, is all about: home, family, nurturing and safety. Retrogrades are where a planet appears to be moving backwards from our perspective here on Earth. Retrograde themes have to do with: reflection, revising, re-doing and remembrance.
Mercury retrograde in the watery sign of Cancer, will bring up all the feels, and these experiences could be quite emotional and tender. Since Cancer rules our home and emotional foundations, past haunts and hurts that we previously felt, could come back to be re-examined. Our own ability to nurture and care for ourselves will be very prevalent. We will want to communicate with more emotion and might notice that an air of moodiness and sensitivity will be more common.
This Mercury retrograde will ask us to go back in time and past: people, situations and events could re-surface. Of course with any Mercury retrograde, frustrations and delays with: projects, electronics and travel plans could also be issues at this time. We are being asked to surrender to our most vulnerable and soft places within our soul. This will be a test to get in touch with how we “mother” ourselves and each other.
Mercury retrograde in Cancer is here to have us re-examine our past with a softer and more sympathetic tone of understanding. Coming back to our roots and sense of security will be big themes during this retrograde period. Family and connection to our soul’s mission will be highlighted. We might have to have some very intimate and uncomfortable conversations with others during this time. These communications will be imperative for healing past traumas, but also with liberating past burdens connected to feeling “unloved” or “unworthy”.
This Mercury retrograde period in the tender sign of Cancer, wants us to rewrite and re-communicate what makes us feel safe and at ease. Mercury retrograde in the sign of the crab, is here to: bring past hurts to the surface to be healed, reminders to ourselves of the importance of being nurtured and supported and the re-connection to the lost parts of our tender and sensitive souls. Mercury will turn direct on July 12th at 5 degrees of Cancer, but will be in his post shadow period until July 29th.

On June 10th, Venus, the planet of: love, beauty and pleasure, currently retrograde in the sign of Gemini, rises as a morning star. She has gone to the underworld for the last 10 days to transform. After June 10th and for the next 18 months, she will rise in all her glory as a beautiful light in the early dawn hours.
Morning star Venus is more: aggressive, masculine and dominant. She will have us stand up for our ideals and desires in matters of: love, money and pleasure. Slowly but surely, our energy levels will begin to rise again and we will feel more directed and powerful.
Retrograde Venus becoming visible as a morning star, reminds us that we cannot avoid the dark to honor our light. In fact, without embracing our shadow, we cannot fully step into our radiant and authentic selves. She reminds us that we all go through dark periods but these phases don’t last. Although our strength to deal with them always will.

On May 20th, the Sun, which rules our: life force, vitality and core essence, moves into the airy sign of Gemini. Gemini, the 3rd zodiac sign, is all about: play, curiosity, wonder, intelligence and flexibility.
The Suns movement into Gemini will spark our intellectual and playful sides. Gemini is a mutable sign ( like: Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces). Mutable signs are at the end of a season and prompt us to be more flexible and malleable with our expressions. The Sun is now joining the Gemini party as we have: Mercury, Venus and the North Node also currently in the sign of the twins. Our curious and child like sense of wonder is heightened and we will want to explore, question everything and learn new things.
Being that Gemini rules: communication and whimsical expressions, this is a great time to focus on anything that requires mental dexterity and creativity. Gemini, according to former astrologer Linda Goodman( one of my favs) is the known as “the child” of the zodiac. The Sun in Gemini wants us to be free to float around in a fancy of wild abandonment and innocence. Wherever Gemini falls in your natal chart, is where this wondrous and light sense of play will be present. Since Gemini energy is so prevalent in the skies right now, you will see a concentration of attention on those areas of life. For myself, as an example, Gemini rules my 7th house of relationships and contracts. I have noticed a flurry of folks coming at me from every direction. Sometimes, Gemini energy can be scattered and all over the shop. It is the signs charm and also dexterity of purpose that allows it to be: here, there and everywhere, all at the same time.
The Sun’s entry into the sign of the twins is here to lift your spirit with a wind of lightness and chatty wisdom. We are being encouraged at this time to question and ponder the many riddles of our current existence. The Sun in Gemini wants you to remain open and playful within these intellectual conundrums. Venus Retrograde in Gemini- Re-connection with What You Value, A Blast from the Past Returns, Do You Speak with Love and Understanding to Yourself?
On May 13th, Venus, the planet of: love, affection, pleasure, money and beauty, turns retrograde at 21 degrees of Gemini. Retrograde planets appear to being going backwards from our perspective on Earth and herald a time of: reflection, revision, and past remembrance. Gemini, the 3rd zodiac sign, is all about: communication, play, learning, malleability and lightness.
Venus retrograde in the sign of Gemini will create many reflections and revisions around how we understand and appreciate love and things of value. During this Venus retrograde phase in the sign of the twins, we will need to be quite vocal about our relationships and how we communicate our values and desires to ourselves and others. Being that Gemini is an air sign and quite flirty and playful, a lot of these reflections and contemplation’s could be rather light and not too deep. Also,considering that Gemini is a mutable sign, which tends to be very malleable and flexible, we could feel rather scattered and “all over the shop” about our feelings and intentions. On Monday we could suddenly want to rekindle a relationship from the past and by that Friday we could have a new fling ignite our interest. Again, as mentioned, all over the shop, lol. Past lovers and business relationships could re-appear all of a sudden. With any retrograde period, especially among the inner planets( Mercury, Venus and Mars) there tends to be past: people, places and things resurface, grasping for our attention. I look at this as a test to see how far we have come and to see if we have learned the karmic lessons of these folks and events.
Venus retrogrades every 19 months, less than any other inner planet. She is therefore felt more intensely. If you look out in the evening sky right now, you can see beautiful Venus. Evening star Venus is feminine in nature and very gentle and loving. Over the next 40 days and 40 nights, she will transition in her retrograde phase over to a morning star. Morning star Venus is masculine in nature and very forthright and aggressive. If you were born with your natal Venus sign following your Sun sign than you are a natal Evening star Venus. If you were born with your natal Venus sign before your Sun sign, then you are a natal Morning star Venus. An example from my own chart is I was born with my Venus at 29 degrees of Aquarius and my Sun sign at 7 degrees of Aquarius. You can see my Venus sign by degree falls AFTER my Sun sign degree, which means I am a natal Evening star Venus. I’ve noticed whether you are a natal Evening star Venus vs. a natal Morning star Venus, the individual taking on more feminine or masculine traits, when expressing their love and affection.
Venus retrograde in Gemini is here to have you reflect and revise how you look at: love, money and what you value in life. There is an opportunity to communicate your authentic truth and learn something about what and who truly matters to you in your life.
