The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases defines overweight and obese as a person whose weight is higher than what is considered normal, adjusted for their height.1 That adjustment is figured by taking a person’s weight in kilograms and dividing it by the square of height in meters, which gives what is known as a body mass index, or BMI, according to the CDC.2

An adult is considered obese if their BMI is 30.0 or higher. Recent studies only reinforce what scientist and researchers already know: Obesity rates are high and climbing.

According to The State of Obesity,3 there are striking and persistent racial and ethnic disparities. According to data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey in 2014, more than 33% of individuals were considered overweight.4

By 2016, that percentage had risen to 39.6%.5 The World Health Organization reported that worldwide, obesity has tripled since 19756 and in 2016 more than 1.9 billion adults were overweight. In the U.S., 39.6% of adults were overweight and 13% were obese. These are the highest rates ever documented.

The highest percentage of adults with obesity were from 40 to 59 years old and women 20 years and older.7 According to The State of Obesity,8 rates increased in six states between 2016 to 2017 and remained stable in the rest of the U.S. West Virginia had the highest adult obesity rate at 38.1% of the population, while obesity rates were at least 30% in 29 other states.

The American Academy of Family Physicians9 reported on the links found between increased obesity in adults and socioeconomic factors such as education, rural versus urban living and income levels. In all cases, the report showed individuals with the highest education, living in urban or metropolitan areas or with incomes 400% or greater than the federal poverty level had lower rates of obesity.

Two recent studies10,11 published in the BMJ have linked eating ultraprocessed foods with a significant increase in the risk of death and cardiovascular disease. While you may suspect boxed foods or convenience store snacks are foods on the ultraprocessed list, you may be surprised to learn that many foods touted as healthy are also ultraprocessed.

Four servings of ultraprocessed food increase risk of death

Researchers sought to evaluate the association between an ultraprocessed diet and the risk of all-cause mortality. To that end, they gathered data from 19,899 participants from 1999 to 2014.12 They followed up with the participants every two years to gather data on food and drink consumption and classified the foods eaten according to the degree of processing, using the NOVA classification system.13

NOVA classifies food categories according to the extent and purpose of processing, rather than in terms of nutrients found in the food. NOVA is recognized as a valid tool for nutrition and public health research and used in reports from the United Nations and Pan American Health Organization.14

NOVA categorization was initiated when researchers realized the significance of industrial processing on human health was far understated in research. The researcher’s main outcome measurement was an association between ultraprocessed foods and all-cause mortality.

Participants were categorized into eating low, low-medium, medium-high or high consumption of ultra-processed foods. The researchers found those in the highest quarter, eating greater than four servings of ultraprocessed food each day, had the greatest risk for all-cause mortality compared to those in the lowest quarter.15

During the 15-year study, 335 deaths occurred. For every additional serving of ultraprocessed foods, all-cause mortality-related increased by 18%. They concluded eating four or more servings of ultraprocessed foods was independently associated with a 62% relative increased risk for all-cause mortality.16

They also found those in the group with highest consumption had higher than average body mass index, were more likely to be current smokers and to have a family history of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and depression. In addition, they were also more likely to snack and use a computer for longer periods of time. The main cause of death was cancer at a mean age of 58 years.

Cardiovascular risk increases with ultraprocessed foods

Another recent study involved 105,159 participants. The researchers collected data on their dietary intake using repeated 24-hour dietary records designed to evaluate the participants’ typical eating habits. Here, their main outcome measurement was the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.17

The mean follow-up of the participants was 5.2 years, during which the researchers found intake of ultraprocessed food was indeed associated with a higher risk of cardiovascular disease.

According to the researchers, the results remain statistically significant after adjusting for markers of nutritional quality and after a large range of sensitivity analysis. Co-author Maira Bes-Rastrollo, professor of preventive medicine and public health at the Universidad de Navarra, told CNN:18

“Ultraprocessed foods already make up more than half of the total dietary energy consumed in high-income countries such as USA, Canada and the UK. In the case of Spain, consumption of ultraprocessed food almost tripled between 1990 and 2010.”

Ultraprocessed food leads to weight gain

Another small scale, but rigorous, randomized and carefully controlled study19 performed by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), found that eating ultraprocessed foods increases calorie intake and leads to greater weight gain. The researchers recruited 20 healthy volunteers who lived at the NIH Clinical Center for four consecutive weeks.

They were randomized into two groups and received an ultraprocessed or unprocessed diet for the first two weeks and then immediately switched to the alternate diet for the next two weeks. After gathering the data, the researchers concluded that when eating a processed diet, the participants ate on average 459 more calories per day than when eating the unprocessed diet.20

The increased energy intake occurred over breakfast and lunch, with no significant increase in calories at dinner in those eating the ultraprocessed diet. The researchers also found that eating ultraprocessed meals caused the participants to eat faster, which may have led to a higher energy intake.

They hypothesized ultraprocessed foods may have increased the eating rate and delayed satiety signaling, thus increasing overall count caloric intake. While on the ultraprocessed diet for two weeks, participants gained an average of 1.98 pounds.21

Top cause of death linked to ultraprocessed foods: Cancer

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,22 there were 1.29 million new cancer cases reported in 1999 and 1.63 million new cancer cases reported in 2015. According to the American Cancer Society,23 there were an estimated 14.1 million cases of cancer diagnosed around the world in 2012 and the number is estimated to grow to 21.6 million by 2030.

The established dogma asserting cancer is a genetic disease currently influences research and the type of treatment you may expect from an oncologist. In fact, it fuels the entire cancer industry, but it is not leading to any significant advances in treatment or prevention.

However, the mechanism of metabolism on cancer cells is clear and based on the findings of Dr. Otto Warburg, a classically trained biochemist who received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine24 in 1931 for his discovery of the nature and action of the respiratory enzyme cytochrome C oxidase.

His work demonstrated how cells receive energy from respiration and how cancer cells have a fundamentally different energy metabolism compared to a healthy cell. The National Cancer Institute25reports tobacco is the current leading cause of cancer and the leading cause of death from cancer.

Although smoking has been in the No.1 spot for preventable causes of cancer for decades, it appears obesity is not far behind. According to Dr. Otis Brawley,26 professor of oncology in epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University and past chief medical officer of the American Cancer Society, this may occur within the next five or 10 years.27

Compared to those who are within a normal weight range, those who are obese are also more likely to have a recurrence of their cancer, and a lower likelihood of survival. Research published in the New England Journal of Medicine28 concluded “increased body weight was associated with increased death rates for all cancers combined and for cancers in multiple specific sites.”

Reuters29 reports the rate of cancer unrelated to obesity declined by 13% between 2005 and 2014 while obesity-related cancers rose by 7%. While the exact association between cancer and obesity is not fully understood, researchers are focusing on studying visceral fat, as its metabolically active and may spur cellular growth.

Obesity increases risk of other health concerns

In addition to cancer, obesity eventually takes a toll on your physical and financial health, even if you are currently healthy. Adults who are obese spend 42% more on direct care costs and those who are morbidly obese (BMI greater than 40) pay 81% more than a healthy weight adult.30

When a patient presents in the emergency room with chest pain, the cost is 41% higher for severely obese patients, 28% higher for obese patients and 22% higher for overweight patients than healthy weight individuals.31 Additional financial costs are the result of medical and physical concerns linked with obesity, such as Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and gallstones.

During Type 2 diabetes, the body struggles to maintain healthy levels of blood sugar due to insulin resistance. The hormone insulin is produced by your pancreas and helps keep your blood sugar levels within a normal range. If you experience Type 2 diabetes, your pancreas may not be able to produce enough insulin to keep up with the demand, resulting in higher blood sugar levels.32

Obesity33 and Type 2 diabetes34 both drastically increase your risk for coronary heart disease. A buildup of plaque in the arteries severely limits the flow of blood to the heart and a heart attack may happen. Obesity may also increase your risk for high blood pressure, which can increase your heart’s workload to the point of arterial damage and heart damage.

Gallstones35 are a crystal-like deposit created inside the gallbladder typically made from an excess of cholesterol, bile or bilirubin. In the case of obesity, the stones are usually made from cholesterol, and the size may vary from a grain of sand to the size of a golf ball.36

Unless they cause a blockage in the pancreatic duct, they don’t usually trigger symptoms. Obesity may also limit your physical activity and increase your risk for osteoarthritis in your knees, back and hips.

What’s in ultraprocessed foods?

According to NOVA, the ultraprocessed group of food and drinks contains industrial formulations, typically with five or more of these types of ingredients. They may include sugar, oils, fats, preservatives and antioxidants not commonly found in culinary preparations but may be used to imitate sensory qualities or hide undesirable sensory qualities.37

While this list is not all-inclusive, it does offer insight into the types of foods considered ultraprocessed:38

Undoubtedly, there is a serious health epidemic in the U.S., and a majority of it is linked to diet. There are no quick and easy answers. It is crucial to remember what you eat is the foundation on which your health is built and eating a processed food diet is a recipe for long-term disaster.

If you have access to real food, it is important to take the time to learn to cook from scratch and make the most of any leftovers. With a bit of dedication and planning it’s also possible to grow produce at home in small spaces, including indoors.

I know I feel better, sleep better, and am more relaxed in the summer when I’m out in the hot Arizona sun (and shade) every day for hours a day.

Oddly enough, the allopathic medical community in general tells us to stay out of the sun, to lather up with vast quantities of at least SPF15 sun screen, wear a hat, long sleeves, and sun glasses.

Now that we are aware our sun is failing and we have fake sunlight from simulators, we have to wonder how that will affect us, and all life on our planet. See the 1963 patent for the sun simulator, pictured above, which aimed to provide full spectrum radiation.

In artificial sunlight can our bodies still produce Vitamin D and can plants undergo the photosynthesis required to thrive—and produce our food, metabolize CO2 and give us clean oxygen?

This story doesn’t get into the sun simulator aspect of our reality, but does reveal a lot of important information about the effects of sun exposure on the Human body—chiefly disease prevention—indicating that avoidance is an unwise strategy.

We can see that once again, the medical industry has been misinforming us. No wonder so many are sick. Sun exposure needs to be carefully managed; neither too much, nor too little. If we don’t have sun on bare skin for at least 20 minutes a day, we could experience problems. Sunlight is good; mentally, emotionally, and physically. As for fake sunlight, we don’t know.

TOP 19 TIPS TO REDUCE YOUR EMF EXPOSURE AND PROTECT YOURSELF FROM 5G ~ January 30, 2019

The potential ramifications of unchecked exposure to electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation are immense. As explained in the featured interview with Martin Pall, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of biochemistry and basic medical sciences at Washington State University, the primary danger of EMFs — and what drives the processes of chronic disease — is the mitochondrial damage triggered by peroxynitrites, one of the most damaging types of reactive nitrogen species.

Devices that continuously emit EMF radiation at levels that damage your mitochondria include your cellphone, cellphone towers, Wi-Fi routers and modems, baby monitors and “smart” devices of all kinds, including smart meters and smart appliances.

Types of Damaging EMFs

EMFs can be broadly divided into three categories:

  1. Electric fields: AC electric fields at 60 Hz (50 Hz in Europe) from house wiring and corded appliances (especially ungrounded ones: cords that have only two prongs rather than three). Electric fields are the most challenging to measure accurately and significantly contributes to the confusion about EMFs
  2. Magnetic fields: AC magnetic fields at 60/50Hz Hz from power lines, wiring errors on house wiring, current on grounding paths, and from motors and transformers
  3. Radio frequencies (RF) from cellphones, smart meters, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and other wireless devices

In addition to these three categories, you also have dirty electricity, or EMI (electromagnetic interference) caused by transient voltage spikes. If we go back in time to the end of World War I, around 1918 or so, and use that timeframe as a baseline of EMF exposure among the general public, you come to the astonishing conclusion that EMF exposure has increased about 1 quintillion times over the past 100 years.

You’d have to be irrational to assume that this radical increase — an increase of 1 billion times — couldn’t have some adverse effects. The reality is that most people are experiencing biological impacts as a result of EMF exposure, but have no appreciation of the damage it’s causing until it’s too late. Even then, it’s extremely difficult to link the exposure to the symptoms or the disease.

Unrelenting EMF Exposure Can Wreck Your Health

Pall has published research1,2,3,4 showing low-frequency microwave radiation activates voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCCs) — channels in the outer membrane of your cells. Once activated, the VGCCs open, allowing an abnormal influx of calcium ions into the cell, which activates nitric oxide (NO).

NO is the only molecule in your body produced at high enough concentrations to outcompete other molecules for superoxide and is a precursor for peroxynitrite.5 These potent oxidant stressors are associated with an increased level of systemic inflammation and mitochondrial dysfunction, and are thought to be a root cause for many of today’s chronic diseases.

One of its most significant downsides of peroxynitrite is that it damages DNA. Your body has the capacity to repair that damage through a family of 17 different enzymes collectively called poly ADP ribose polymerases (PARP). However, while PARP work well, they require NAD+ for fuel and when they run out of NAD+ they stop repairing your DNA, which can lead to premature cell death.

Heart, Brain and Male Reproductive Organs Are at Greatest Risk

According to Pall’s theory, the physical locations where VGCCs are the densest are indicative of the diseases you might expect from chronic excessive exposure to EMFs. As it turns out, the highest density of VGCCs are found in your nervous system, your brain, the pacemaker in your heart and in male testes.

As a result, EMFs are likely to contribute to neurological and neuropsychiatric problems, heart and reproductive problems, including but not limited to cardiac arrhythmias, anxietydepressionautismAlzheimer’s and infertility. Excessive calcium signaling produced by EMF exposures also has important roles in producing pathophysiological effects of EMFs, including each of the effects listed above.

For the past 25 years, the industry has claimed that nonionizing radiation is harmless and that the only radiation worth worrying about is ionizing radiation. Pall’s research unequivocally proves that this assumption is false.

Thanks to Pall’s work, we now know that VGCCs are 7.2 million times more sensitive to microwave radiation than the charged particles inside and outside our cells. This means the safety standards for this exposure are off by a factor of 7.2 million. In terms of oxidative damage, research shows 3G creates the same level of cellular stress and oxidative damage as about 1,600 chest X-rays.

Disinformation by Industry Threatens Public Health

Unfortunately, negative health effects from EMFs are usually not immediately noticeable, as the damage accrues over time, similar to that from smoking. It’s important to note that researchers are in general agreement that there’s a latency period of about 10 years or more before the damage shows up, which places children at greatest risk, since their exposures are earlier in life and longer.

There’s no doubt in my mind that cellphones are one of the greatest public health threats of the 21st century. But, like the tobacco industry before it, the telecommunication industry has manipulated federal regulatory agencies, public health authorities and professionals through powerful and sophisticated lobbying efforts, leaving consumers confused about the health risks.

In an investigative report for The Nation, Mark Hertsgaard and Mark Dowie reveals “the disinformation campaign — and massive radiation increase — behind the 5G rollout.”7

By early 1999, findings from more than 50 studies were already raising “‘serious questions’ about cellphone safety,” and this evidence was shared with the CTIA8 (the trade association for the wireless industry) board of directors. They ignored it, and have consistently fought to prevent public discussion and knowledge about the possible effects.

5G Rollout Will Significantly Magnify Health Risks

The industry touts 5G, the “5th Generation” wireless network, as a way to create faster internet and streaming services, and better cellphone coverage. The problem is that 5G relies primarily on the bandwidth of the millimeter wave (MMW), which is known to penetrate 1 to 2 millimeters of human skin tissue9 and has been linked to numerous health problems, including:10

  • Eye problems such as lens opacity in rats, which is linked to the production of cataracts
  • Impacted heart rate variability, an indicator of stress, in rats and heart rate changes (arrhythmias) in frogs
  • Pain
  • Suppressed immune function

MMW is actually what’s used in crowd control weapons (Active Denial Systems) by the U.S. Department of Defense, as it has the ability to cause a severe burning sensation.11 Unlike the “4th Generation” (4G) technology currently in use, which relies on 90-foot cell towers with about a dozen antenna ports on each, the 5G system uses “small cell” facilities or bases, each with about 100 antenna ports.12

Once it’s installed in your neighborhood, you won’t have a choice to opt out of continuous 5G exposure, and research13 compiled by EMF coach and author Lloyd Burrell shows the proliferation of 5G for the sake of faster internet could be a public health disaster.

While MMWs have not been widely used before, it’s already been suggested that sweat ducts in human skin act as antennae when they come in contact with MMWs.14 In 2017, more than 180 doctors and scientists from 35 countries signed a petition15 to enact a moratorium on the rollout of 5G due to the potential risks to wildlife and human health, which include an increased risk for:

  • Cancer
  • Cellular stress and increase in harmful free radicals
  • Genetic damage
  • Reproductive problems16,17,18
  • Neurological disorders

Two years earlier, in 2015, more than 230 scientists engaged in the study of biological and health effects of nonionizing EMFs in 41 nations signed an international appeal to the United Nations, calling for protection from nonionizing EMF exposure due to evidence of health effects even at low levels.19

20 Facts About 5G’s Impact on Human Health

In this video, Paul Ben Ishai, Ph.D., a senior lecturer with the department of physics at Ariel University in Israel, reviews the potential risks to human health from sub-MM communication systems. The Environmental Health Trust has also published a list20 of 20 facts you need to know about 5G wireless. These include:

5G coverage requires “small cell” antennas to be placed in neighborhoods everywhere.
Millions of small cells must be built into people’s front yards.
The radiation from 5G small cells is not minor, and will increase EMF radiation near homes, causing aesthetic deterioration of the environment in addition to health risks.
5G will not replace current wireless technology but add to it, increasing exposure exponentially.
Community authority is being overruled at every level of government in the name of boosting cellphone coverage and internet speeds.
Cellphone companies have confirmed that 5G small cells will work at a distance of 3,000 feet and do not need to be placed every 100 feet, necessitating them being placed near homes.
Scientists worldwide are calling for a halt to the rollout of 5G.
Cumulative daily radiation exposure is associated with serious health effects, including cancer,21,22altered brain development in children and reproductive damage in men.Indeed, thousands of studies showing biological effects from low-intensity EMF were summarized in the BioInitiative Report23 (2007 and 2012), demonstrating immune system effects, neurological effects, cognitive effects and much more. Another important study,24 funded by the U.S. government, was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in 2011.Using a positron emission tomography or PET scan capable of detecting alterations in glucose, the researchers determined that cellphone radiation triggers your brain cells to metabolize glucose at an increased rate.Glucose metabolism equates to cell activation, so the findings indicate that radiation from your cellphone has a well-defined measureable influence on your brain. Essentially, each time you put a cellphone up to your ear, you’re artificially activating your brain cells.
Multiple papers have concluded wireless radiation is a human carcinogen; the International Agency for Research on Cancer classified cellphones as a Group 2B “possible carcinogen” in 2011,25 and two recent studies (one by the U.S. National Toxicology Program (NTP)26 and one by the Ramazzini Institute in Italy27) confirm its carcinogenic potential.The NTP study found heart tumors (malignant schwannomas) in male rats, “similar to acoustic neuromas, a benign tumor in people involving the nerve that connects the ear to the brain, which some studies have linked to cellphone use.”
According to experts, 5G small cell wireless streaming bills do not make financial sense.
Antennas near homes also decrease property values.
Microwave antennas in front yards pose several worker and public safety hazards.
Wireless companies warn investors of risks, but do not inform people living near cellphone towers.
Antennas near homes will cause a deterioration of sleep for the occupants, resulting in decreased performance and health.
Cellphone radiation has been shown to have an adverse impact on birds, bees, trees and plants.
Many U.S. cities and entire countries are voting to halt 5G.
The Federal Communications Commission does not monitor radiation exposures from cell installations and many cell towers already violate radiation limits.
The International Association of Firefighters officially oppose cell towers on fire stations, and have done so since 2004, after research showed firefighters with antennas on their stations suffered neurological damage, including memory problems, intermittent confusion and feelings of weakness.28
The American Academy of Pediatrics and many other medical organizations are calling for federal action to protect children from EMF exposures, citing research showing that living near mobile phone base stations is associated with an increased risk for headaches, memory problems, dizziness, depression and sleep disturbances.Research29 by Pall published in 2016 detail how, when VGCCs are activated in the brain, they release neurotransmitters and neuroendocrine hormones. Hence, consequences of chronic EMF exposure to the brain also include anxiety, depression, autism and Alzheimer’s.Preliminary results from the largest long-term study30,31,32 of brain development and youth health in the U.S., the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study,33 also reveals the brains of the most prolific users of electronic devices look different compared to those who use smartphones, tablets and video games less frequently.Children who use electronic devices for seven hours or more each day have premature thinning of the brain cortex, the outer brain layer that processes information from the five physical senses (taste, touch, sight, smell and sound). As little as two hours of screen time per day may impact cognition, resulting in lower scores on thinking and language tests.

On their website, you can also access a long list of published scientific studies showing cause for concern.35 In “5G Wireless Telecommunications Expansion: Public Health and Environmental Implications,” published in Environmental Research in August 2018, Dr. Cindy Russell, executive director of Physicians for Safe Technology,36 writes:37

“Like other common toxic exposures, the effects of radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation (RF EMR) will be problematic if not impossible to sort out epidemiologically as there no longer remains an unexposed control group. This is especially important considering these effects are likely magnified by synergistic toxic exposures and other common health risk behaviors. Effects can also be nonlinear.

Because this is the first generation to have cradle-to-grave life span exposure to this level of man-made microwave (RF EMR) radiofrequencies, it will be years or decades before the true health consequences are known. Precaution in the roll out of this new technology is strongly indicated.”

Protect Yourself and Your Family From Excessive EMF

There’s no doubt in my mind that RF-EMF exposure is a significant health hazard that needs to be addressed if you’re concerned about your health. The rollout of 5G would certainly make remedial action all the more difficult, which is why we all need to get involved and do what we can to prevent it.

Apart from that, here are several suggestions that will help reduce your EMF exposure and help mitigate damage from unavoidable exposures. For even more do’s and don’ts, see the infographics by the Environmental Health Trust below.

1. Identify major sources of EMF, such as your cellphone, cordless phones, Wi-Fi routers, Bluetooth headsets and other Bluetooth-equipped items, wireless mice, keyboards, smart thermostats, baby monitors, smart meters and the microwave in your kitchen. Ideally, address each source and determine how you can best limit their use.Barring a life-threatening emergency, children should not use a cellphone or a wireless device of any type. Children are far more vulnerable to cellphone radiation than adults due to having thinner skull bones, and developing immune systems and brains.Research38 also demonstrates that infants under the age of 1 do not effectively learn language from videos, and do not transfer what they learn from the iPad to the real world, so it’s a mistake to think electronic devices provide valuable education.
2. Connect your desktop computer to the internet via a wired Ethernet connection and be sure to put your desktop in airplane mode. Also avoid wireless keyboards, trackballs, mice, game systems, printers and portable house phones. Opt for the wired versions.
3. If you must use Wi-Fi, shut it off when not in use, especially at night when you are sleeping. Ideally, work toward hardwiring your house so you can eliminate Wi-Fi altogether. If you have a notebook without any Ethernet ports, a USB Ethernet adapter will allow you to connect to the internet with a wired connection.
4. Avoid using wireless chargers for your cellphone, as they too will increase EMFs throughout your home. Wireless charging is also far less energy efficient than using a dongle attached to a power plug, as it draws continuous power (and emits EMF) whether you’re using it or not.According to Venkat Srinivasan, director of Argonne Collaborative Center for Energy Storage Science, keeping your cellphone or tablet fully charged at all times will also reduce the life of the battery, which will necessitate the purchase of a brand-new phone.39As a lithium ion battery charges and discharges, ions pass between a positive electrode and a negative electrode. The higher the battery is charged the faster the ions degrade, so it’s better to cycle between 45 percent and 55 percent.
5. Shut off the electricity to your bedroom at night. This typically works to reduce electrical fields from the wires in your wall unless there is an adjoining room next to your bedroom. If that is the case you will need to use a meter to determine if you also need to turn off power in the adjacent room.
6. Use a battery-powered alarm clock, ideally one without any light. I use a talking clock for the visually impaired.40
7. If you still use a microwave oven, consider replacing it with a steam convection oven, which will heat your food as quickly and far more safely.
8. Avoid using “smart” appliances and thermostats that depend on wireless signaling. This would include all new “smart” TVs. They are called smart because they emit a Wi-Fi signal and, unlike your computer, you cannot shut the Wi-Fi signal off. Consider using a large computer monitor as your TV instead, as they don’t emit Wi-Fi.
9. Refuse a smart meter on your home as long as you can, or add a shield to an existing smart meter, some of which have been shown to reduce radiation by 98 to 99 percent.41
10. Consider moving your baby’s bed into your room instead of using a wireless baby monitor. Alternatively, use a hard-wired monitor.
11. Replace CFL bulbs with incandescent bulbs. Ideally remove all fluorescent lights from your house. Not only do they emit unhealthy light, but more importantly, they will actually transfer current to your body just being close to the bulbs.
12. Avoid carrying your cellphone on your body unless in airplane mode and never sleep with it in your bedroom unless it is in airplane mode. Even in airplane mode it can emit signals, which is why I put my phone in a Faraday bag.42
13. When using your cellphone, use the speaker phone and hold the phone at least 3 feet away from you. Seek to radically decrease your time on the cellphone. Instead, use VoIP software phones that you can use while connected to the internet via a wired connection.
14. Avoid using your cellphone and other electronic devices at least an hour (preferably several) before bed, as the blue light from the screen and EMFs both inhibit melatonin production.43,44Research clearly shows that heavy computer and cellphone users are more prone to insomnia.45For example, one 2008 study46 revealed that people exposed to radiation from their mobile phones for three hours before bedtime had more trouble falling asleep and staying in a deep sleep.
15. Since we now know the effects of EMFs are reduced by calcium-channel blockers, make sure you’re getting enough magnesium. Most people are deficient in magnesium, which will worsen the impact of EMFs. As noted by Pall in the featured interview:“It is clear that when you’re deficient in magnesium, you get excessive activity of the VGCCs. You also get excessive calcium influx through the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor, caused by magnesium deficiency, which is also problematic, so it’s important to allay that deficiency.”
16. Pall has also published a paper47 suggesting that raising your level of Nrf2 may help ameliorate EMF damage. One simple way to activate Nrf2 is to consume Nrf2-boosting food compounds.Examples include sulforaphane-containing cruciferous vegetables, foods high in phenolic antioxidants, the long-chained omega-3 fats DHA and EPA, carotenoids (especially lycopene), sulfur compounds from allum vegetables, isothiocyanates from the cabbage group, and terpenoid-rich foods.Exercise, calorie restriction (such as intermittent fasting) and activating the nitric oxide signaling pathway (one way of doing that is the Nitric Oxide Dump exercise) will also raise Nrf2.
17. Incorporate the Nitric Oxide Dump into your daily fitness routine. According to Pall, the nitric oxide signaling pathway and the peroxynitrite pathways inhibit each other, meaning that as nitric oxide signaling increases, peroxynitrites decrease. As the Nitric Oxide Dump boosts nitric oxide, it may help provide some protection against EMF damage.
18. Molecular hydrogen has been shown to target free radicals produced in response to radiation, such as peroxynitrites. Studies have shown molecular hydrogen can mitigate about 80 percent of this damage.48,49,50,51,52
19. Certain spices may help prevent or repair damage from peroxynitrites. Spices rich in phenolics, specifically cinnamon, cloves, ginger root, rosemary and turmeric, have exhibited some protective effects against peroxynitrite-induced damage.

Well, I hate to say “I told you so”, but this article appears to do that for me! I have sent this to my 83-year old Mother who I have repeatedly warned against getting a “flu shot”. Well…she DID get her flu shot this year and she is also taking strong doses of Vit. D to support her immune system! Thanks to Starship Earth for bringing out this message..

How do I know this? I work in a hospital lab and see it all! The incompetence of the Western health system is amazing! For those who do not know…Vit. D actually works as a “pre-hormone” that supports many, many of the metabolic processes in our bodies of which the immune system is the most important. Historically, more folks get sick in the winter months. Why? It’s not because we are cooped and sharing germs (maybe), but more so because we are cooped up and not getting any SUN. Remember, direct sun exposure activates your body to produce Vit. D (you cannot get the UVB you need through a window, or in the car.)

So…please take Vit. D3 supplements (I take 30,000/day in the winter), read this article and apply this knowledge to yourself, and…

(Note from Erin: Good news! Not only is ABC news linked here, but so is NBC news who explains why the flu shot is “lousy” in their title, (see below) and basically “useless” to those over 65. Wake up America. Countless MDs (including the head of Cleveland Clinic) are calling out the dangerous adjuvants that can injure, harm and even kill you or your family in this dangerous ineffective vaccine.

You may be seeing some false articles written on the fake site that has fallen from grace this past year: Snopes. Sadly they have not done the research we have. You might be familiar with them because of their court battles for allegedly defrauding their own company, for illegal activity at that! I’m not sure if they are attacking us with so much vitriol because we reported on that (along with many mainstream sources), if it’s because they need money, or if it’s something else (someone even asked me if I had ever dated the guy to deserve all this, uh, no) but their seething hatred for Dr Mercola and me is clear. What we do know is they are pro-Pharma, pro-Big Oil, pro Fracking and anything pro-Business. They don’t support the people and had to beg for money this past year on the internet (yes, they were about to get shut down with good reason). You can read about Snopes begging for money publicly in the New York TimesWe also realize that Snopes has sent most of our detractors and downright vicious trolls to this article as well. No surprise there.

We talked at length with the editor who interviewed the health department official that gave the quote. They confirmed she did make the surprising statement. (HOWEVER, when Snopes reached out to her, they heard only crickets, “…though our request for comment from Treague has not been returned.”1I am not at liberty to share what their reaction was, but let’s just say it was very clear that it was surprising to many. You can see it’s reflected in their headline as well, which raised eyebrows. They too received much feedback about this controversial headline, which many PhDs in science and MDs have said they fully support — minus the part about receiving the vaccination regardless of the inefficacy. Thank you in advance. According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), this year’s flu is rampant in 49 states, with Wisconsin and Minnesota being hit especially hard. And one nurse thinks she knows why. While part of the blame lies with the dominant flu strain this year, H3N2, which tends to be more severe and causes more severe symptoms than most other strains 2 it also potentially lies with us:

“I believe that the low effective rate of the vaccine this year is due to the mutations that the virus made in the processing of the vaccine itself,said Anna Treague, nurse for Public Health. “That is at LEAST part of the reason that influenza cases are so widespread this year.” 3

(That being said, Treague still thinks everyone should get a flu shot… Really? You’ve got to be kidding us. The cognitive dissonance is shocking).

THIS JUST IN: At 1:45 today, ABC NEWS released this article, “Flu vaccine only 36 percent effective.” In the article, they state, “Manufacturers grow flu viruses in chicken eggs. But the viruses can mutate in the eggs, and what emerges for use in the vaccine is less effective in people.”4 This is what Treague said above. Snopes, in order to be professional, is going to need to do some major retractions!

ABC News also went on to say that “The flu vaccine… was nearly ineffective for older people, including seniors who are most vulnerable. The estimates were published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”5

Again, the Health Department official says it’s at LEAST part of the problem, if not the whole problem, and other experts agree. Dr Mercola (his video is below), who has had the #1 health site- worldwide- for 20 years, agrees, “It’s no surprise at all”, he says. We have countless other MDs and PhDs who concur as well. As doctors continue to give the dangerous shot and the virus mutates, more people will get sick and the epidemic will worsen. It’s like a bad sci-fi movie.

(And again, why does the virus mutate (partially because that’s what RNA viruses)? Well, according to NBC, “Researchers have identified one more important reason flu shots don’t usually work very well — it’s because they are grown in chicken eggs. Flu viruses mutate every year and it turns out the methods used to make flu vaccines cause them to mutate even more, the researchers found.”6 Notice that article is from last year. This isn’t new news and it’s apparently not important enough for researchers and Big Pharma to do anything about either. Let THAT sink in.)

Why does she want you to get it? Because “Even if the flu vaccine isn’t as effective as it has been in year’s past, it does help. Some protection is better than no protection.”7 (Oh and even if it’s potentially causing the epidemic too?)

Biophotonics is a branch of quantum biology dealing with interactions between single-photons and biological matter in order to understand the inner workings of cells and tissues in living organisms. It is probably the best solution for understanding cell function by integrating molecular activities within the living cells.

Fritz-Albert Popp is the inventor of biophoton theory, and has coined the term biophotons which refers to coherent photons emitted from biological organisms. Biophoton theory concerns DNA as the most probable source of biophoton emission.

The biological emission of photons (biophotons) is a term used to describe the permanent ultraweak (1-100 photons/sec/cm2) emission of coherent (phase-locked and/or frequency-locked) photons from living systems. (F.A.Popp 1976) Popp considered it to be a quantum biological phenomenon with bio-informational character distinct from the non-coherent emission of photons as by-products of metabolism, like thermal radiation and bioluminescence/chemiluminescence caused by radical reactions, oxidation etc.

Biophoton/ultraweak photon emission originates from relaxation of electronically excited states of the constituents of living cells, which are generally associated with the presence of an oxidative metabolism that accompanies the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) which participate in the regulation of a wide spectrum of biochemical and physiological functions.

Biophoton/ultraweak photon emission reflects the pathophysiological state with respect to mitochondrial energy (ATP) production and the susceptibility to oxidative stress which is derived from the excessive production of ROS or a lack of activity for antioxidant protection.

Biophotons consist of light with a high degree of order, in other words, biological “laser” light. Such a light is very quiet (low-noise) and shows an extremely stable intensity, without the fluctuations normally observed in light. Because of their stable field strength, its waves can superpose, and by virtue of this, constructive and destructive interference effects become possible that do not occur in ordinary light.

Because of the high degree of coherence (high degree of order), the biological “laser” light is able to generate and keep order and also to transmit information in the organism.

Ultraweak Photon Emission (UPE) or Biophoton emission (BPE) refers to the phenomenon of constant and spontaneous emission of light from all biological systems including humans due to metabolic activities, without excitation or enhancement. This occurs in the visible and UV part of the electromagnetic spectrum at ultra low intensities, on the order of 10-16 – 10-18 W/cm2.

The coherent emission of bio-photons is connected to energy and information transfer processes in the biological organisms, and has been linked to the function of DNA and to gene regulation.

The light is 1,000 times less intense than levels that can be seen with the naked eye, which is why most people cannot detect it (some people, however, are able to see this emitted light or “aura,” and some can even distinguish colors). 

Dr. Fritz-Albert Popp was the first to suggest that this light must come, at least in part, from the foods we eat. When we eat plant foods, the light waves, or photons, in the plants are taken in and stored by your body.

Biophotons are the smallest physical units of light, which are stored in, and used by all biological organisms – including your body. The purpose of these biophotons is much more important than many have realized. It turns out they may very well be in control of virtually every biochemical reaction that occurs in your body — including supporting your body’s ability to heal.

 

Light Controls Your Cell Functions

It is known in biology that every cell in your body has over 100,000 biochemical reactions per second, all of which must be carefully timed and sequenced with each other.

For a long time it was proposed that this occurred through a “mechanical” concept whereby molecules bumped into each other by chance and fit together like a lock and key, or even by slightly changing shape, to come together and form chemical reactions.

Granted, this does sound a bit farfetched, and now researchers believe this cellular dance is not random at all, but rather controlled by biophotons. As Dan Eden wrote for viewzone.com, the paper “The Real Bioinformatics Revolution: Proteins and Nucleic Acids Singing to One Another?” explains just how this “dance” takes place: 

“Veljkovic and Cosic proposed that molecular interactions are electrical in nature, and they take place over distances that are large compared with the size of molecules. Cosic later introduced the idea of dynamic electromagnetic field interactions, that molecules recognize their particular targets and vice versa by electromagnetic resonance. 

In other words, the molecules send out specific frequencies of electromagnetic waves which not only enable them to ‘see’ and ‘hear’ each other, as both photon and phonon modes exist for electromagnetic waves, but also to influence each other at a distance and become ineluctably drawn to each other if vibrating out of phase (in a complementary way).

There are about 100,000 chemical reactions happening in every cell each second. The chemical reaction can only happen if the molecule which is reacting is excited by a photon … Once the photon has excited a reaction it returns to the field and is available for more reactions… We are swimming in an ocean of light.” 

Dr. Popp, who proved the existence of the biophoton field in 1974, believes that these types of “biophoton emissions” are responsible for transferring information throughout your entire body.

 


Where Does Your Body’s Light Come From?


Dr. Popp proved that light in your body is stored by, and emitted from, your DNA. The DNA inside each cell vibrates at a frequency of several billion hertz (which is unfortunately the same range at which modern cell phone communication systems also work). 

The vibration is created through the coil-like contraction and extension of your DNA — which occurs several billion times per second — and every time it contracts, it squeezes out one single biophoton; a light particle. 

That photon contains all the information on everything going on in your DNA at that moment. One single biophoton can carry more than four megabytes of information, and relays this information to other biophotons it crosses in the biophoton field outside your body. 

All the photons that are emitted from your body communicate with each other in this highly structured light field that surrounds your body, and which is the actual carrier of your long-term memory. This light field also regulates the activity of your metabolic enzymes. 

The information transfer on biophotons is bidirectional, which means your DNA sends information out on a photon, and on the same photon the information of all the biophotons from your body is broadcast back to your cells, and to your tubulin, which are light conductive molecules in your connective tissue. 

The tubulin, in turn, receives the information-carrying light impulse and conducts it at the speed of light throughout your body, where it is translated inside each cell into activating or inactivating certain metabolic enzymes. 

 

Illness Occurs When Biophoton Emissions are Out of Sync

Research by Dr. Popp also showed that the light emissions of healthy people follow a set biological rhythm for day and night and also by week and month, as though they are connected to biorhythms of the earth, as well.

However, in his studies, the light emissions from cancer patients had no such rhythms and appeared scrambled, which suggests their cells were no longer communicating properly. Likewise, according to his research, Dr. Popp found that in multiple sclerosis patients were taking in too much light, leading to a similar confusion on a cellular level. Even stress influenced people’s biophoton emissions, causing them to increase in response to the stress. 

It’s known, too, that cancer-causing chemicals alter your body’s biophoton emissions, interrupting cellular communications, while certain substances help restore them. Dr. Popp found mistletoe to be one such substance that appeared to restore the biophoton emissions of tumor cells to a normal level.

Interestingly, even conventional medicine confirmed that mistletoe extract does appear to have a beneficial effect on cancer, with one study published in Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine showing that mean survival rates nearly doubled among breast cancer patients who received mistletoe extract.

Because light is such an integral part of your body’s processes, biophoton therapies are at the forefront of medicine. For instance, therapies are emerging that involve stimulating the body with specific quantities of light to reduce pain and promote healing processes. 

One fascinating alternative practice that Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt has started using, based on this science, is to use tools that work with light to influence your biophoton field in beneficial ways. For example, transmitting the information of nutrients in the form of light into your biophotons field can affect your body in the same way as eating the nutrient!

 

An Important Tip for Gathering Valuable Light Energy

As regular readers know, I’ve long recommended eating a diet of mostly RAW food to stay optimally healthy. This is because living raw foods contain the biophoton light energy your body needs.

Every living organism emits biophotons. It is thought that the higher the level of light energy a cell emits, the greater its vitality and the potential for the transfer of that energy to the individual who consumes it.

The more light a food is able to store, the more nutritious it is. Naturally grown fresh raw vegetables, for example, and sun-ripened fresh fruits, are rich in light energy. The capacity to store biophotons is therefore a measure of the quality of your food.

The greater your store of light energy from healthy raw foods (this should not be confused with your vitamin D status, which is produced by the sun on your skin), the greater the power of your overall electromagnetic field, and consequently the more energy is available for healing and maintenance of optimal health.

I firmly believe it’s only a matter of time before the importance of light energy in your health and well-being becomes more widely recognized and applied in the field of medicine. Until then, remember that your body is not only made up of tissue, blood vessels and organs. It’s also composed of light.
