Three SCOTUS decisions. One is historic. Two are misreported. Here’s what actually happened — and what it means for the Deep State and the SAVE Act.

Good morning, C&C, it’s Tuesday! It’s also the final day of June— tomorrow we cross the demarcation line into the second half of Trump’s Year of Action. Yesterday, the Supreme Court dumped nearly all of its controversial decisions that —predictably— ignited a social media firestorm of controversy, recriminations, and hot takes. As a blogging lawyer, it is my duty to show you what really happened and why yesterday was a much better day at the Court than the doomscrollers’ clickbait posts suggest. Three decisions, one of which just changed everything.

As ever, yesterday the Supreme Court gaveth and tooketh back. It was a Goldilocks day: a clear win, a tepid loss, and one that could go either way. The tangle of hot takes makes it impossible to know what to celebrate, double down on, or go cry in a corner. Let’s try to blow off some of the methane fog. We begin with the unequivocal win, which the New York Times reported as, “Justices Expand Trump’s Power to Fire Officials.”

In the aptly named case Trump v. Slaughter, the Supreme Court issued a common-sense decision. But that ninja-like common sense had managed to evade judicial cerebellums ever since the 1930’s New Deal. Yesterday, the Justices returned to the Founders’ sensible notion that the President, as the Executive Branch’s CEO, may hire and fire the employees who work for him, and Congress cannot game the system by making certain employees quote-unquote “independent.”

Get ready for The Apprentice, 2026 edition. President Trump wasn’t exaggerating this time when he called the decision “historic,” “monumental,” and “the Greatest increase in Presidential Power in the last 100 years.”

SCOTUS scotched a 91-year-old rule allowing for unaccountable “independent commissioners” to be placed on various important boards and powerful federal commissions. That rule was created amidst progressives’ Cambrian Explosion Period, in the infamous 1935 case of Humphrey’s Executor v. United States, which arguably launched the modern deep state.

Put plainly, Humphrey’s moved major administrative decision-making agencies, such as the FTC and the EPA, out of Presidential control. After Humphrey’s, Congress kept creating agencies with five-member boards having staggered six-year terms, so that a new president could replace only two seats in their first six years in office.

In other words, aided by FDR’s Supreme Court, Congress minted a permanent executive-branch government that ran outside both the president’s and the voters’ control. Ultimately, this became the Deep State. Democrats called that progress.

For example, voters might want a more conservative EPA that isn’t busily declaring cow farts to be toxic hazards. Not unreasonably, voters might think that, by electing a Republican president, they’d also get a conservative EPA. But no.

A new Republican president faced an EPA stacked with Democrats, who would defy him and keep on doing cuckoo things like declaring rain puddles to be nationally protected wetlands and making it a felony to step in the mud. The president was powerless. Rinse and repeat, for each federal agency.

Meanwhile, frustrated conservative voters, missing the nuance, concluded once again that they’d voted for a squish.

That era —which has been reality for the entire lifetimes of anyone reading this— is now over. Trump has a green light to clean house and start packing those boards and commissions with conservatives who will do what the voters want. (Apart from one lone exception; stand by.)

🔥 Writing for the majority, Justice John Roberts quoted the Father of the Country while making the decision’s central, logical point, elegantly transforming George Washington’s words into constitutional principles:

“To ‘discharge the duties of his trust,’ the President must have the assistance of officers he can trust. Although it is up to the Senate to decide whether to confirm those with whom the President would prefer to work, neither Congress nor the courts may saddle him with those with whom he cannot work. Subordinates who exercise the President’s power are subject to removal by him. Then, and only then, can they remain accountable to the President, and the President to the people.”

It’s not a tweak. Even in dissent, self-described ‘wise Latina’ Justice Sonia Sotomayor saw the case as profoundly significant, just like President Trump, albeit with much less enthusiasm. It’s a deep-state wrecking ball.

“Today the majority reshapes our Government,” Sotomayor began, warming up. “Dozens of independent commissions are now likely to become purely executive agencies, shifting tremendous power over broad swaths of American life into the President’s hands… Seldom, if ever, has this Court worked such a profound bait and switch on a coequal branch.”

In the comments, Times readers were unified in shock, horror, and outrage (admittedly, their default setting):

I doubt very much that ‘Bob S’ has any clue what will “happen,” apart from Democrats losing their monolithic partisan control of “non-partisan” independent agencies. Howmonolithic, you ask? Well, we can thank the Times for the answer, and for accidentally giving away the game while trying to make an altogether different point. Self-own.

🔥 Behold, the Times’ eagerly helpful infographic, which purported to show how Trump has ‘gutted’ so-called independent boards and commissions. But it really shows how nearly every single “non-partisan” board was controlled by Democrats when Trump took office in January, 2025. Every. Single. One:

You see it, right? Democrats intended for Trump to be completely paralyzed, a one-term washout, unable to accomplish anything meaningful except for a few easily reversed executive orders, while all the big government agencies continued enforcing Biden Administration policies in zombie-like suspended animation.

To the President’s great credit, even before yesterday’s Supreme Court decision, which reversed nearly 100 years of judicial silliness, Trump had already moved aggressively to make every possible board conform to the wishes of the electoral majority that elected him, by at least firing the Democrat majorities, even if he couldn’t yet appoint Republican replacements.

But now he can. Get ready for a lot of fast action. It might be impossible to keep up with it all.

Let’s turn to the exception that proved the rule. Yesterday’s second decision appeared to tack the exact opposite way from the Slaughter case and erroneously triggered the first tidal wave of furious hot takes.

🔥 In Trump v. Lisa Cook, SCOTUS held that Trump couldn’t fire a goblin-like Federal Reserve Governor accused of retail mortgage fraud. (Accused by Bill Pulte, we might add, who is now also running the nation’s top spy agency.) Corporate media is celebrating this as a major defeat for Trump and a victory for the independence of the Federal Reserve.

But‚ did the President really lose? Is TAW broken?? Consider this triumphalist headline from yesterday’s Public Broadcasting System:

By the way, for those of you keeping up with your media malfeasance studies, PBS’s sleight of hand was in headlining Lisa Cook’s lawyer— not the Supreme Court. Cue massive eye roll. Outraged conservatives on social media, who wrongly relied on these silly corporate media schemes, and without actually reading the decision, reacted with the usual hot takes. Betrayal!

Alas for Democrats. It was not, in fact, the win PBS wished it were. In the 6-3 decision, with Chief John Roberts once again writing for the majority, the Court carved out a simple, narrow exception to the rule it had just created in the Slaughter case. Rather than seeing the glass 99% full —every otheragency is not subject to Cook’s narrow exception— too many conservatives failed to celebrate the massive, historic win because the winning was not absolute.

Corporate media flat-out lied about the case’s holding. Here’s NBC, claiming that SCOTUS ruled President Trump can’t fire mortgage fraudster Lisa Cook:

That headline is false. The Court did notrule that the President can never fire a Federal Reserve Governor, not even repulsive Lisa Cook. It did not absolve Lisa Cook of mortgage fraud or say fraudsters can be Governors. It did not throw any babies out with their lukewarm bathwater. The decision did only one thing: it let Lisa Cook stay on the Board until she can respond to the claims against her.

SCOTUS then shot the case back down to the district court to do just that.

That being said, the Court did, clearly, stretch to reach a strange result that it wanted and then backfilled the reasoning to support that result. After all, in Slaughter, it had just said presidents can fire board members at will. The opinion spent far too many words gushing about the Federal Reserve’s ‘unique’ historical character, tricking inattentive readers into thinking that was the basis of the decision.

It wasn’t. The linchpin was that Trump’s lawyers agreed that Lisa Cook could only be fired for cause. SCOTUS accepted that framing, and said that when people are fired for cause, due process requires they have a chance to prove they didn’t do whatever they were accused of.

“At minimum,” Justice Roberts wrote, “Cook was entitled to some explanation of the evidence at issue, some avenue for a response, and a deadline by which a response would be due… Because Cook did not receive such process, her removal was ‘erroneous and void’ from the start.”

🔥 That’s uncontroversial. It comports with Americans’ basic sense of fairness. Having founded Cook’s firing on alleged misconduct, it only seems fair that she gets a chance to prove her innocence. But it did seem jarring in light of the simultaneous Slaughter rule.

And the dissenting conservatives pounced on that incongruity. Writing in dissent, Justice Amy Coney Barrett explained:

“The Court’s holding is in serious tension with Trump v. Slaughter, which we also decide today. Slaughter announces a categorical rule: Whenever ‘an agency “executes” a congressional mandate against private parties, it exercises executive power’ and must be subject to plenary executive control—’no ifs, ands, or quasis about it.’ Yet here, the Court claims a special exception ‘sanctioned by history’ and based on the Federal Reserve’s role in setting monetary policy. How can history support both a categorical rule and a carveout?”

Unqualified midwit and DEI hire Lisa Cook will not survive her due process review. Unless Bill Pulte made up his allegations of garden-variety mortgage fraud, which seems unlikely, to say the least, Cook cannotremain in a trusted position that sets rates and rules for mortgages. It’s not going to happen.

Trump will be able to fire her. Sorry, NBC.

But why would Chief Justice Roberts want to give Lisa Cook a little more time? The answer seems simple and ugly. As it always is. My read is that it was because politics.

Cook gives Democrats a cheap, valueless ‘win’ to offset the massive, historic, precedent-reversing Slaughter decision.

I don’t like it, but I can see it. It’s not my job to preserve the Supreme Court’s reputation or fend off Democrat court-packing. But that is part of Justice Roberts’ job. It wasn’t elegant or pretty, but it was practical and inexpensive.

Now let’s look at the third big decision, the one that is generating the most blackpilling, angst, and hottest hot takes of all.

🔥 In Watson v. RNC, another 5-4 decision authored by Justice Barrett, the Court ruled that federal laws establishing a uniform Election Day do not preempt state laws allowing for counting absentee ballots received after Election Day, provided they are postmarked by Election Day. Corporate media jubilantly declared another ‘win.’ Headline from far-left Vox:

Conservative social media was outraged. Influencers argued that this allows for post-election ballot harvesting and fraud. Part of the reason is shock and surprise because, during oral arguments, the conservative justices had universally asked deeply skeptical questions about late ballot counting.

It just goes to prove, once again, that oral arguments are not the final say. Don’t use them to decide how much to bet on Polymarket.

🔥 Once again, though, this so-called ‘win’ is much less complete than it looks at first blush. The majority —the three liberals joined by two conservatives, Barrett and Roberts— merely held that all votes castbefore Election Day must be counted, even if they are mailed in. You can fairly argue that this creates boatloads of opportunities for fraud because of the logistics of mail-in balloting, but the legal reasoning isn’t completely crazy.

Not only that. This is key. The majority’s decision did not rest on the Constitution but turned on federal law. And those statutes can be changed, for example, through the SAVE Act.

“As we have said time and again, policy arguments are properly directed to legislatures, not courts,” Justice Barrett explained. “The question today is not whether requiring ballots to be received by election day is a good or bad idea; the question is whether the idea has made its way into the United States Code.”

In other words, SCOTUS punted back to Congress, saying, “Don’t ask us to fix yourmess.” It’s fine to argue that the Justices should have fixed the late counting problem, but then we must grapple with the time-worn complaint about judicial activism, which conservatives are supposed to eschew.

Either way, it provided the dissenting conservatives a marvelous opportunity to give Congress more ammunition. Justice Alito, for example, relished in his dissent:

“The majority holds that a State complies with the federal election-day statutes if it requires that ballots are postmarked by election day and received within five days after. But this ostensibly simple holding obfuscates the many unsettling questions that the majority’s position entails. For instance, do the federal election-day statutes impose any ballot-receipt deadlines? … If the ‘election’ is complete when voters fill out their ballots and send them on their way, may States eliminate ballot-receipt deadlines entirely?”

Alito mocked the majority for not even saying how long is too long. “Some States will count mail-in ballots that arrive as late as 21 days after Election Day,” he observed. “If the ‘election’ is complete when voters fill out their ballots and send them on their way, may States eliminate ballot-receipt deadlines entirely?”

Having posed that thorny rhetorical question, Justice Alito drew the logical conclusion: “Even in the absence of partisan rhetoric, drawn-out ballot-counting ‘induces a large, significant decrease’ in Americans’ trust in elections.” So there.

Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves (R), whose state’s rules were at issue in Watson, had the right attitude:

🔥 The dissenters enjoyed a dissenting field day, and there were simply too many saucy quotes to include in a manageable Substack post. That’s nice and all, you might ask, but what good are dissenting opinions? Who are these comments even aimed at?

Maybe they are aimed at Republican holdouts who still oppose the SAVE Act. And here is the most encouraging and most under-reported fact: The majority’s choice to resolve Watson on purely statutory grounds almost certainly helps the SAVE Act’s prospects.

Justice Barrett was emphatic that Watsonwas not a constitutional case. She wrote, “This is not a case about the Constitution. We do not consider the scope of Congress’s authority to regulate federal elections.” By grounding itself in statutes rather than constitutional limits, Watson implicitly confirmed the most important proposition: Congress absolutely could legislate a uniform ballot-receipt deadline if it wanted to — it just hasn’t done so yet.

Barrett didn’t just say it once, either. From her closing section: “When voting on different days in different States sparked allegations of fraud, Congress set a nationally uniform deadline for voting. If varied deadlines for ballot receipt similarly call for a national solution, the American people must choose it through their elected representatives.” BOOM.

If, say, the Court had instead ruled that the Elections Clause prohibits Congress from reaching into ballot-receipt mechanics, that reasoning would have been weaponized against the SAVE Act. Barrett’s opinion lifted that move right off the lawfare chessboard.

🔥 The majority went further. It also reaffirmed that the Elections Clause places power over congressional elections in state legislatures “primarily,” but in Congress“ultimately” (citing Hamilton’s Federalist No. 59). The word “ultimately” is load-bearing for the SAVE Act. It signaled that Congress’s override authority is real and plenary when exercised, not a narrow or suspect power needing special justification.

In other words, Watson held that the problem isn’t constitutional barriers; it’s just legislative inaction. That is precisely the legal posture the SAVE Act needs.

At bottom, SCOTUS did punt the decision back to Congress. But it didn’t merely punt. It also cleared the field for a long drive back to the goal line.

Notably, President Trump’s Truth Social feed didn’t criticize the Court’s decisions in either Cook or Watson. He’s not usually stingy with his criticism. Just saying.

To wrap this up, like the Cook decision, Watson was not any clear win for Democrats. Trump is already moving forward with an executive order to tighten USPS ballot tracking, which will eliminate mysteriously appearing post-election ballots and require certification of citizenship for delivery. Meanwhile, he’s still demanding that Congress pass the SAVE Act.

In sum: we got one decision that massively and historically expanded Trump’s executive power and drove the stake deeper into the Deep State— according to his own reckoning, the dissent, and the Editors at the NYT. And then, we got two lukewarm decisions; thin, tasteless legal patties that give Democrats two buns of ‘winning’ without any beef inside.

And maybe the ‘losses’ create a menu for more conservative consolidations. So be encouraged, maybe even enthusiastic. Nothing happened in yesterday’s decision except that the Swamp’s water levels fell even lower. The Slaughter decision changed everything. May the draining continue.

Since 1913 the mega rich Cabal Bankers ruled by the Rothschild family have controlled not only the Global Financial System, but the Mainstream Media that mind controls the population, shaping perceptions.

They have controlled the money. They have controlled the World – and they’ve been doing it for 250 years. Contacts inside the Treasury Department say that what’s happening right now with the Global Currency Reset was the biggest financial restructuring since 1913.

The Rothschild family didn’t just build a bank. They built a financial empire that controlled every major economy on Earth. From the Federal Reserve to the Bank of England to the European Central Bank — the same bloodline pulled the strings.

In 1815, Nathan Rothschild made a fortune betting AGAINST Britain during the Napoleonic Wars. He knew the outcome first. $250 million in a single day. How? A network of spies across Europe. Information the public didn’t have. That was 209 years ago.

Today, the Rothschilds still had that same advantage. They know what’s coming before it happens. They control the interest rates. They control the currency supply. They control inflation and deflation. They engineer recessions and booms. They decide which nations rise and which nations fall.

On 5 July 2026 Trump, as part of America’s massive 250 Year Celebration,  was preparing to make a financial announcement that would change the World: a complete restructuring of the global financial system.

The NESARA/GESARA protocols were being activated. The gold-backed currency was on it’s way. The interest-based slavery system was ending. The Rothschild dynasty’s 250-year reign was collapsing.

That’s why the media was silent. That’s why the banks were quiet. That’s why the elites were desperate. Because once Americans understood that their entire financial system has been designed to enslave them — that every dollar they earned was worthless because of artificial inflation created by private bankers — the system collapses.

That very collapse was occuring this week with the downfall of the fiat currency SWIFT System. As of Sun. 28 June 2026 all financial messages could no longer go through the the Illuminatti Deep State fiat currency SWIFT system. They must be sent in the gold/asset-backed ISO 20022 format of the new Global Quantum Financial System. This impacted over 11,000 banks in over 200 countries and $5-$7 Trillion transactions every day.

On that same Sunday 28 June 2026 we saw full implementation of the Global Currency Reset of 209 nations to gold/asset-backed currency that traded at a 1:1 to each other.

There has already been a takeover of the fake news Mainstream Media by the Starlink Satellite System, the live switchover expected to be shown to the public by Thurs. 1 July 2026.

Starlink, which was managed by the United States Space Force, will eliminate outdated infrastructures, providing us with free energy, revolutionary Med Beds, a transparent voting system, and the long awaited gold/asset-backed currency in the new Quantum financial system.

Child rescue efforts were under direction of the US Military and President Trump – our still duly elected US President. You see, during the Nov. 2020 Election tabulation the US Military ran programs in tandem with the fraudulent Dominion machines that proved President Trump had won the 2020 Presidential Election by an over 80% vote.

President Trump then instigated the Insurrection Act and turned over control of the country to the US Military. An Interim Military US Government has been running our country ever since.

The two US governments: (1) a legitimate Interim Military US Government empowered by the Constitution and the Department of Defense under Military Code 11.3, and (2) an illegal, fraudulent foreign paid-for, foreign controlled (on the foreign ground of the District of Columbia) Biden Administration.

In March 2020 an international military force repatriated to the US Treasury and other nations, 650 plane loads of gold and cash from the Vatican, according to Charlie Ward, Ph. D, whose team secured the gold and valuables. “The Military also arrested 13-demon-bloodline families, Mafia heads, the Pope and 350 personnel in the Vatican. By Sat 17 April the Military RV Security teams and Quantum Financial System tech personnel had revamped the London financial and Forex system.

On Sun. 18 April Crypto Currencies and Bitcoin Markets crashed. Bitcoin was headquartered, along with an international Child T———g Ring run by the Vatican, under the Chinese Communist Party’s Three Gorges Dam.

On Mon. 19 April scores of US Treasury employees serving the Cabal were arrested, “As many as 100 and likely more were caught red-handed in a scheme to fund the next CV-19 Stimulus, stop the Global Currency Reset and keep on printing fiat dollars.”

Since Mon. 19 April Market opening all international markets, including the US Stock Market and Dollar Index, were in the red and imploding, although at times the figures snuck up to green.

As of Wed. 21 April 2021 the Illuminati/Cabal-owned FED, IRS and World Bank have been deprived of accessing their pass codes, couldn’t transfer funds through their online system and thus were considered broke. The Federal Reserve, IRS and World Bank have been locked out of their accounts, with the passwords changed. They can no longer transfer monies.

Despite a Trump Executive Order that made it unlawful for any more printing of the fiat US Dollar, the Biden Administration continued the practice at the defunct Federal Reserve Bank so they could continue their [2019 pandemic] fake agenda. Just a few days ago the US Interim Military Government took charge and arrested over 100 members of the Cabal.

Fri. 26 June 2026 Fox News: Former CIA Director John Brennan is a TRAITOR who belongs in prison for his role in the Russia Collusion Coup, using foreign allies to spy on Trump and his campaign, and doing Obama’s dirty work, directing his CIA to write up a new ICA with fabricated intel to frame Trump. The Trump Administration delivered the equal and opposite counter-reaction, elevating open Christianity across the federal government, hosting a days-long Faith Festival on the National Mall to Rededicate the Nation to God, which even featured the President of the United States reading Bible verses and signing pro-faith executive orders in papery reams.

If you thought the movement was slowing or petering out, think again. Before we get to Alex the Tarot Reader’s dramatic conversion, there was much bigger news on Friday. Corporate media reacted with shock and horror to the Administration’s latest major religious freedom move. It was a big one. Headline from the Washington Post:

On Friday, June 26 —a date we should probably write down somewhere— the Department of Justice issued a book-length, 224-page draft report blandly titled, “Religous Liberty Commission.” The subtitle simply stated, “Americans’ First Freedom.” Read the 12-page executive summary and skim the table of contents even if you lack time for the whole thing. You’ll thank me.

Far too often in our national life,” the report’s summary explained, “religion is treated not as a protected and valued contribution to public life, but as a problemor annoyance to be managed, restricted, or sidelined.” This, it explained, is bad. It suggested the solution is proactivity rather than reactivity, cultural cultivation rather than compliant complaisance.

“Safeguarding religious liberty requires more than defending legal rights after they have been violated,” it said. “It requires cultivating a culture that understands why those rights exist in the first place.” It was nothing less than a declaration of war on liberals’ established secular worldview.

One of the report’s most unequivocal recommendations was for the DOJ to aggressively tear down the wall separating church and state. WaPo explained that the report advised DOJ to “issue guidance to promote ‘an originalist understanding’ of how the Constitution sees the relationship between religion and government.”

At an Oval Office news conference about the report, Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick repeated the report’s reccomendation that any official —in government, schools, military, hospitals, etc.— who alleges a citizen violated church-state separation must in writing “point out exactly where you have violated the Constitution, because you have not, and from this day forward, that phrase should have no power over people of all faiths ever again in America.”

The Religious Liberty Commission, which issued the report, was created by Trump’s executive order last May. Guess how Democrats reacted? Of course, they sued before the ink dried on Trump’s non-Autopen-signature. The lawsuit complained that the Commission was made up of all conservative Christians (and one Orthodox Jew), who are groups the Times’ unnamed “experts” argued make up a minority of Americans.

The Rev. Paul Raushenbush led the plaintiffs’ group suing the Administration. Paul derisively called the Commission “Christian nationalists” and sneered that the report was “a betrayal of the original intention of the promise of religious freedom guaranteed in the First Amendment,” and dismissed it as “a wish list of divisive, unpopular ideas far-right religious groups have pushed for years.”

The Times never mentioned Raushenbush’s own colorful background, describing him only as an “Interfaith minister.” Ha. If only. Paul Brandeis Raushenbush is married to Brad. So, not exactly mainstream himself. His entire professional career is built on the proposition that ‘majority’ headcount is irrelevant to the validity of a religious claim or the legitimacy of religious representation in public life.

Pastor Paul was also the Huffington Post’sexecutive editor for religion, and was named for his great-grandfather Louis Brandeis, the first Jewish Supreme Court Justice (and almost certainly an atheist). Paul is also the great-grandson of Walter Rauschenbusch, a Baptist pastor who invented the “Social Gospel,” which harmonized progressive activism with Christian tradition and more or less created the modern religious left.

That’s who sued President Trump, not that you’d know it by reading the Nation’s paper of record. The man who politicizes faith is suing to stop the president from doing the same. But never mind. None of Paul’s background interested the New York Times’ reporters.

Paul was right about one thing, though. Christians have longed for the day that any elected Republican president would platform any of these concepts, much less try to roll back progressives’ destructive “separation of church and state” mythology.

The report is truly historic. Every American Christian’s daily prayer list should include thanks to God for what’s happening. Even Pastor Paul’s deluded congregation.

🔥 The left’s “wall of separation” doctrine has always been a legal fabrication built not on the Constitution but on a selective reading of one private letter.

Thomas Jefferson included the phrase in his 1802 letter to the Danbury Baptists— and the great historical irony is that he wrote it to reassure them that the government could not interfere with their church, not to warn churches away from public life. The left took that metaphor, redefined it to mean the opposite, and weaponized it for 70 years to systematically purge religious expression from public institutions.

Every Republican president since Reagan has given religious conservatives the rhetorical nod while largely leaving the legal architecture of “separation” untouched. What makes Trump’s Commission historic is that it attacked the doctrine itself — not just individual cases of religious discrimination, but the foundational framing that has been used to justify all of them.

Recommending that the DOJ issue formal guidance redefining the Establishment Clause is not just a symbolic gesture. It’s replacing the operating instructions that the entire federal bureaucracy uses whenever it encounters religion in public life. This is notradical; it’s returning the definition to its original condition before FDR’s secular wrecking crew first weaponized Jefferson’s private comments.

Texas’s Dan Patrick poked his finger is the myth’s biggest lie. The Committee is shifting the burden of proof. For 70 years, the burden has been on the religious person to justify their presence in public life. This report says no, the burden is on the government to show a specific constitutional violation. That is a real reversal.

The report remains a draft, with public comments open until July 12. That means the left has about 13 days to flood the comments portal and claim the final version was dogged by “public opposition.” If you want to weigh in, and you should, the portal is live at justice.gov/religious-liberty-commission/resources.

According to those instructions, public comments can be emailed to the Commission at RLC@usdoj.gov. The email subject line should be “PUBLIC COMMENT – [TOPIC OR CHAPTER NUMBER] – [NAME].” Topic or chapter just refers to particular issues you might be commenting on (‘chapter’ refers to the report). [NAME] means your name. Like this:

🔥 For years, I’ve argued from evidence that America is amidst a new “Great Awakening,” a historic, transformative period of religious revival. Experts sneered. It’s too soon to say, they said. Well, they sneered at the First Great Awakening too.

In 1744, a cross-eyed itinerant English evangelist named George Whitefield began drawing huge crowds of newly converted Christians as he traveled back and forth through the early American colonies 30 years before the Revolution. There is now no doubt that he launched the First Great Awakening. Benjamin Franklin famously calculated that Whitefield’s voice could carry to 30,000 people in the open air and was so impressed that he helped publish his sermons.

But the fact it was an awakening only became inarguable decades later. Then, in the white-hot heat of the moment, critics pecked it apart. Critics sneered and called Whitefield “Dr. Squintum.”

Can you guess which institution tried hardest to destroy the wandering preacher’s reputation? It was Harvard. In official testimony against Whitefield in 1744, Harvard’s faculty jointly accused him of … excessive enthusiasm. I am not making that up. The “experts” of 1744 wrote, “We look upon his going about, in an Itinerant Way, especially as he hath so much of an enthusiastic Turn, utterly inconsistent with the Peace and Order, if not the very Being of these Churches of Christ.”

Excessive enthusiasm. In other words, he was too excited about Jesus. Too much pep. Excessive Ned Flanders energy. A man dangerously over-invested in the Gospel. If only he could tone it down some. And don’t overlook Harvard’s dark warnings about public safety. It should sound familiar.

The First Church of Boston’s head pastor —what you might today call the establishment— found the danger even without squinting. He complained bitterly about Whitefield’s converts singing in public. “When this is expressed among some sorts of people by singing through the streets and in ferryboats, from whatever cause it sprang,” Pastor Chauncy wrote, “it is certainly one of the most incongruous ways of expressing religious joy.”

In other words, Harvard and Pastor Chauncy were saying Christians should pray at home or in church, not in public. Exactly what the progressive Supreme Court said before its landmark 2022 decision in Kennedy v. Bremerton, which reversed decades of judicial tradition and held that a high school football coach could lead his team in prayer on the field before a game.

That was four years ago. We’ve come a long way since then.

I shouldn’t omit mentioning that a 1921 Cambridge American History Encyclopedia included an entry about the Whitefield controversy noting that Harvard’s historians were remarkably honest, in retrospect, about what was really driving the establishment’s opposition to Whitefield’s Great Awakening.

The real problem wasn’t theology. It was turfand money:

“The New England clergy, as chosen members of a close corporation, abhorred the disturbers of their professional etiquette and were alarmed at poachers upon their clerical preserves. It not only threatened their social pedestals, but it touched their pockets to have these ‘new lights’ taking the people from their work and business and leading them to despise their own ministers.”

The more things change, the more things stay the same. However silly it seems now, calling Whitefield an “enthusiast” in 1744 was like calling someone a conspiracy theorist or a Christian nationalist today. In other words, a dismissive epithet designed to end the conversation by pathologizing the movement rather than engaging with its substance.

🔥 Which finally brings us back to Alex the Tarot Card reader, who appeared to her one million followers on TikTok last week, now with natural fingernails, to announce the shutdown of her popular occult channel. “This will be my final post,” the bewitching influencer said. “I am not going to be offering any more readings or sessions. I’m not going to be creating any more tarot content. And once this account is gone, I will not be returning.”

Until last week, “Alex Reads Tarot” was a prominent ‘WitchTok’ creator. She offered daily tarot readings, zodiac updates, paid spiritual readings, the whole occult ecosystem. Then she went silent, nuked her accounts, deleted every single video, changed her handle to “Alex in the Ordinary,” changed her look, and posted a 10-minute testimony announcing she had become a Christian.

She didn’t just leave WitchTok. She burned the deck.

And —this is the most remarkable detail— Alex said she won’t be making any more social media content at all. She’s stepping out of the spotlight entirely to pursue God. No rebrand, no pivot, no monetizing the conversion. Just … gone. POOF. Not even a cloud of sulphuric smoke.

That wasn’t just a career pivot. It was a crucifixion of the self.

For non-Christian readers, the Bible is perfectly clear in its prohibitions against divination. Basically, occult practices invite contact with unclean spirits. Once you allow for the existence of a spiritual plane where intelligent entities live, then spiritual hygienebecomes a lot more serious. (One of the most amusing ironies of modern life is how secularists laugh at Christians for believing in invisible demonic spirits, and Christians laugh at secular folks for believing in invisible UFO aliens. Guys! Stop arguing … just LOOK … it’s basically the … oh, never mind.)

Imagine what it must take to surrender a million-strong TikTok following, with all its financial benefits, social advantages, and ‘self-worth’ currency.

In Matthew 19, a rich young ruler tragically walked away from Jesus sad because he had great possessions and wasn’t willing to let them go. Alex walked away. Full stop. Which means she found something she valued more than a million people telling her she mattered every morning when she opened her phone.

“This truly isn’t something that I say lightly, as this has been my life, my work for years,” Alex said. “Tarot has always been a very significant part of my path, and walking away from something like that isn’t easy. There’s sadness, but at the same time, there’s a peace in that decision that I can’t quite explain.”

You might call it a peace that surpasses all understanding. (Anyhow, that’s how the Bible describes it.)

“I don’t know exactly what comes next for me,” the young lady admitted. “But what I do know is that Jesus Christ has saved my life, and I can no longer ignore that reality.” Alex was only the most recent one.

I’ve long followed these dramatic social media conversions, starting with former witchy tattoo enthusiast Kat Von D (pictured above), and carrying through other high-profile influencers like Russel Brand, Tucker, and even Joe Rogan —the biggest social media star in history— who is now practically teetering on the edge of the baptismal fountain.

Behold what Rogan said last October, in a podcast with Konstantin Kisin delivered to 30 million listeners. First, Rogan said he enjoyed going to church. He defended the Bible against atheist critiques, and then he said:

“Christianity in particular is the most fascinating to me because there’s this one person that everybody agrees existed, that somehow or another had the best plan for how human beings should interact with each other and behave and was the best example of it and even died in a nonviolent way, like didn’t even protest, died on the cross supposedly for our sins. Like, it’s a fascinating story. What does it represent, though? That’s the real thing. What was that? What happened? Who was Jesus Christ, if it was a human being. What was that? That’s wild.”

Too much enthusiasm!

It’s beyond wild. The reason I keep covering this trend is that it’s one of the most important, and maybe even fundamental, components of the time we’re all living through. It matters not whether you’re a believer. It’s affecting us all in the most remarkable and unexpected ways.

🔥 The historical timelines for Great Awakenings weren’t natural cycles. They were information cycles. The First Great Awakening spread at the speed of horseback, word of mouth, and Benjamin Franklin’s creaky printing press.

In those days, it took years for news of a revival in Northampton, Massachusetts to reach Charleston, South Carolina. The reason famous colonial evangelist Jonathan Edwards had to write A Faithful Narrative of the Surprising Work of God in 1737 was that it was the only way he could inform people in other colonies about what was happening in his church.

The revival phase used to require a generation to complete because that’s how long it took for the ideas and the testimonies to slowly spread through the colonial culture.

But social media has collapsed that propagation time from decades to hours.

Alex —a relatively small Witchtok creator— posts a 10-minute testimony on a Sunday night, and by Tuesday morning 81,900 people have seen it, including people from rural Georgia, suburban Ohio, to downtown Seattle. People who would never have run into each other in any other context.

Kat Von D’s conversion reached millions of people who would never read Christian media. The Asbury Revival in February 2023 drew 50,000 visitors to a small Kentucky town within two weeks— not because of corporate media coverage (don’t make me laugh) but because people were posting videos from inside the chapel in real time.

What required 30 years to spread in 1740 now spreads in 30 hours. Which means the compression of a modern revival phase might also be proportionately speedy. If the First Great Awakening’s revival phase lasted a generation because that’s how long it took for information to travel, then a revival in the age of TikTok, Instagram, and X might achieve the same cultural saturation in five to ten years rather than thirty.

We have arrived at an astonishing moment in time. Amidst swelling youth attendance, record Bible sales, favorable SCOTUS decisions, and a steady stream of unlikely influencer conversions, Christians have now just witnessed the publication of an enthusiastic book-length government report calling for the fundamental, structural dismantling of the legal architecture that has suppressed public faith for eighty years.

And that report has arrived at the one moment in living memory when the entire federal government —from the Oval Office to the Cabinet to the courts— is not merely open to it, but practically yearning for it.
