In a shock announcement today, a popular NZ television news programme ‘Newshub’ is closing in June.
This is a direct result of the meteoric rise in popularity of alternative media. I worked in radio broadcasting for 15 years as a creative writer, sales executive and journalist. I don’t know what is keeping radio and television alive. Young people don’t listen to radio or watch TV. Advertising revenue must be plummeting.
