This above article is not accurate. Solar flares are not the same as Coronial Mass Ejections. Not all flares result in CMEs. CMEs can reach earth. Flares can not reach Earth although they can affect radio communications during the flare. CMEs can cause auroras. The X6.3 flare was last Thursday night.
