Everything you see on TV is a scripted performance with the purpose of shaping your world view to benefit the powerful interests running the show. Operation Mockingbird is not a conspiracy theory.
The Kiev regime shot down the plane, seeking to pin the blame on Russia for the deaths of the Ukrainian POWs, the Russian Defense Ministry stated. The Russian Defense Ministry said that radar facilities of the Russian Aerospace Forces recorded the launch of two Ukrainian missiles. “The aircraft was attacked by Ukrainian forces from the Liptsy locality of the Kharkov region using an anti-aircraft missile system. The radar of the Russian Armed Forces observed the launch of two Ukrainian missiles,” the ministry said. The region’s governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov. On his Telegram channel, Gladkov wrote that a drone had been shot down over the village of Blizhnee, which lies about 60 kilometers southwest of Yablanovo, where the plane crashed. The governor’s post was published at 10:35 a.m. local time, about 40 minutes before Russia’s Defense Ministry says the plane crashed. For months now, Belgorod has been targeted by Ukraine’s armed forces, mainly using drones, but also with other weapons types. Kyiv is yet to comment on Moscow’s claims Ukraine was responsible for the downing of the transport plane.
The US, UK, Australia, Canada, Bahrain and the Netherlands carried out another wave of attacks on eight Houthi targets in Yemen on Monday in response to ongoing attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea. According to the Pentagon, they hit troop housing and damaged the Houthi missile and air surveillance capabilities. Dr. Hasan Unal, a professor of political science and international relations at Bashkent University in Ankara, Turkiye told Sputnik’s Fault Lines that he cannot see the US objective in the region clearly and that the country’s actions “may actually disrupt the whole shipping in the region as a result of the US-led military action against the Houthis.” “Without any political objective, if you get involved in any military conflagration, then you are dead meat,” he added. “So I don’t see [how] the United States and its current allies … are going to gain anything concrete out of what they do.”
Since Thursday, farmers in the Occitania region have been blocking highways with tractors, haystacks, and piles of manure. Farmers’ unions say they intend to continue the protests throughout the week, and for as long as necessary. French farmers are demanding recognition of the importance of their profession and denouncing the government’s agricultural policies, which they believe make them uncompetitive. In particular, they oppose the import of agricultural products, restrictions on the use of water for irrigation, the rising cost of diesel fuel, as well as restrictive environmental protection measures and an increasing financial burden on production.
For two centuries archaeologists and anthropologists have uncovered evidence of theritual and medicinal application of mind-altering drugs which were central components in ancient human cultures. While much has been written about the use of ‘magic mushrooms’ and other hallucinogenic fungi in prehistoric cultures, less is said about the use of opium (heroin) and coca (cocaine). According to a 2015 review by Dr. Elisa Guerra-Doce, an associate professor of prehistory at the University of Valladolid in Spain: “It is generally thought that mind-altering substances, or at least drugs, are a modern-day issue, but if we look at the archaeological record, there are many data supporting their consumption in prehistoric times.” The fossils of psychoactive plants and the residues of alcohol and psychoactive chemicals found on pottery and depicted in prehistoric art, offer archaeologists information about how hunter-gatherer ancestors gathered natural plants, what their preferred pharmacological species were, and how this knowledge spread with migrations.
Turkiye’s Grand National Assembly ratified the protocol on Sweden’s accession to NATO on Tuesday, Turkish TRT Haber’s broadcast showed. The parliament’s decision will come into force after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan signs a corresponding decree, which will be published in the government’s official journal. Should President Erdogan sign the decree, Hungary remains the only North Atlantic Alliance country that has not ratified Sweden’s application to join. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia had no problems with Finland and Sweden and that their accession to NATO did not pose an immediate threat. But the expansion of military infrastructure in these territories “will cause a response,” the president said.
Berlin will send six Sea King Mk41 helicopters to Ukraine with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius calling the outdated aircraft “proven and reliable.” The Sea King Mk41 is an aircraft that has been used by the German Navy since the 1970s. These particular Sea King Mk41s were manufactured in the UK by Westland Helicopters, under license from US manufacturer Sikorsky Aircraft. The German Navy ordered 22 Sea King Mk41s in June 1969 as a replacement for the Grumman HU-16 Albatross amphibious seaplane. As the legacy choppers are scheduled to be replaced by the NH-90 NTH Sea Lion, the German government decided to send six of them to the Kiev regime. Remarkably, in the UK, the last remaining Sea King in service with the Royal Navy was retired almost six years ago.
The active sunspots discovered on the sun’s surface release billions of tons of plasma and generate magnetic fields. Though the geomagnetic storm is moderate, it can interfere with satellite, space and aviation communications. The strong flow of energized particles affected the poles, with the blackout enduring for roughly seven hours. “As for radio blackouts, yes, the risk is increasing now. We have already had two small M-class flares, resulting in short-lived R1-level radio blackouts today, but they may soon become longer and larger. NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) has the risk for an R1-R2- level radio blackout at 60 percent over the next couple of days,” physicist Tamitha Skov told DailyMail. M-class solar flares are medium-sized, potentially causing radio outages that impact Earth’s polar regions.
The discovery of wads of a tar-like black resin chewed by ancient people in Sweden could indicate its use for medicinal purposes — or simply their love of gum. Scientists at Stockholm University have extracted DNA from a type of “chewing gum” teenagers in Sweden ate 10,000 years ago. The lumps of gum bearing teeth marks are made from birch bark pitch, a tar-like black resin. The find sheds new light on Stone-Age Swedes’ diet and oral health, according to a paper published by Nature. The pieces of discarded prehistoric gum were discovered three decades ago close to human remains found at the Huseby Klev archeological site in Gothenburg, western Sweden.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a meeting on Tuesday with his Swiss counterpart Ignazio Cassis and told him that Moscow is taking into account Bern’s decision to move away from its principle of neutrality and fully support Kiev. Peace initiatives from countries supplying arms to the Kiev regime are a manipulation, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Sputnik, commenting on the Swiss Foreign Ministry’s reaction to Russian-Swiss talks at the UN. “Either stop supplying arms and inciting conflict, and then your conversations about peace plans, initiatives and processes can somehow be identified as sincere, at least, or obviously not false. Or, if all this bacchanalia continues while using the Kiev regime to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia, then what peace initiatives or efforts are you even talking about?” Zakharova said.
The GOP frontrunner vowed to create a “state of the art” Iron Dome-style missile defense shield at a rally in New Hampshire on Monday, harking back to Ronald Reagan’s ‘Star Wars’ Strategic Defense Initiative program. Donald Trump has taken flak from legacy media for his description of a “Greatest Iron Dome” concept, with outlets excoriating him for the simplified language he used to explain how the idea works. “I will build an Iron Dome over our country, a state-of the-art missile defense shield made in the USA,” Trump said in a speech to supporters in Laconia, New Hampshire on Monday, on the eve of Tuesday’s first in the nation Republican primary. “We do it for other countries. We help other countries, we build, we don’t do it for ourselves,” Trump complained
An anonymous self-described Boeing insider told the Seattle Times that Boeing’s 737 production system is described as “a rambling, shambling, disaster waiting to happen.” Specifically, the whistleblower said that the fuselage panel that blew off an Alaska Airlines jet earlier this month was removed for repair then reinstalled improperly by Boeing mechanics on the Renton final assembly line. The insider said company records show four bolts that prevent the door plug from sliding up off the door frame stop pads that take the pressurization loads in flight, “were not installed when Boeing delivered the airplane.” the whistleblower stated. The Seattle Times additionally notes that NTSB investigators already publicly raised the possibility that the bolts had not been installed.
On Tuesday NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg issued a surprising statement which drastically contradicted the anti-Moscow hawks in the US and UK, who have been claiming that Putin has his eyes set on expanding the war beyond Ukraine, potentially threatening the rest of Europe. Stoltenberg told a press briefing when asked to assess the Russian threat against the Western military alliance that “we don’t see any direct or imminent threat against any NATO Ally.” The idea of an ‘imperial Russian expansionist war’ to gobble up territory into Europe has long been a mainstream talking point related to the Ukraine conflict.
Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS, Explorer 95 or MIDEX-7) is a space telescope for NASA’s Explorer program, designed to search for exoplanets using the transit method in an area 400 times larger than that covered by the Kepler mission. It was launched on 18 April 2018, atop a Falcon 9 launch vehicle and was placed into a highly elliptical 13.70-day orbit around the Earth. The first light image from TESS was taken on 7 August 2018, and released publicly on 17 September 2018. The TESS Objects of Interest (TOI) are assigned by the TESS team and the Community TOIs (CTOI) are assigned by independent researchers. The primary mission of TESS produced 2241 TOIs. Other small and large collaborations of researchers try to confirm the TOIs and CTOIs, or try to find new CTOIs. Some of the collaborations with names that are searching exclusively for TESS planets are: The citizen science project Planet Hunters: TESS (PHT); TESS Hunt for Young and Maturing Exoplanets (THYME); The TESS-Keck Survey (TKS); TESS Giants Transiting Giants (TESS GTG).
