This brings to mind my own granny, who was “lent” to a wealthy childless couple to raise out in the country, near her small town! My great-grandmother had 7/8(?) children at the time, so one less mouth to feed was a very good thing!

There is no subterfuge in this story, as all participants were aware of events which resulted in my granny having a very good education (for the day) and an introduction to a lifestyle she enjoyed! She was lucky…😊🌹
