Uploaded in 2013, here are the East Carolina University Chamber Singers with “Good Night, Dear Heart” by Dan Forrest.
The song is a setting for words placed on the headstone of Mark Twain’s oldest daughter, Susy, who died at age 24. They’re adapted from a poem called Annette by poet Robert Richardson:
Warm summer sun shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind blow softly here,
Green sod above, lie light, lie light –
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.
