  • On 20 September 2023, British prime minister Rishi Sunak, standing behind a lectern adorned with the slogan “long-term decisions for a brighter future”, announced a series of changes to cancel, delay the UK’s climate policies. While still claiming to be committed to the country’s legally binding target to reach net zero emissions by 2050, Sunak announced that a ban on new petrol cars will be pushed back from 2030 to 2035. The prime minister also announced that the government was “stopping” a series of measures, including taxes on meat and flying, compulsory car sharing and “sorting your rubbish into seven different bins” which had in fact never existed.
  • Southeast Technical University (SETU) in Carlow will offer a three-year bachelor of arts degree in content creation and social media from September 2024. The course will be the first of its kind in Ireland, according to BBC News. Dr Eleanor O’Leary, a media and communications lecturer at the university, said that the influencing sector had doubled in global value since 2019, and was now worth between an estimated 14 billion Euro and 16 billion Euro worldwide.
  • British troops could deploy to Ukraine for first time to train soldiers, says Grant Shapps. The new UK Defence Secretary Grant Shapps met with President Zelenskyy in Kyiv earlier this week.
  • The Cuban government once again denounces financial difficulties in importing fuel, announcing that it will adopt electricity rationing measures. At the moment, said the deputy prime minister Alejandro gil, there is a “reduced level of fuel”, a situation that will have a “real impact” in the country already penalized by a serious economic crisis. The executive, Gil explained in a television speech, is developing an estimate of the possible inconveniences to “retailly plan” a calendar for the suspension of electricity supply.
  • The Biden family may have some more explaining to do over their international affairs, after the NY Post reports that Naomi Biden (Hunter’s eldest daughter, not the grandchild Joe Biden mouth-kissed during the 2020 election), was living in the White House while representing the government of Peru in a legal case. According to a review of public records, the 29-year-old has been working for DC-based law firm Arnold & Porter since January 2021, the same month her grandfather was sworn in as the 46th US president, after interning for the firm in 2019.
  • Victor Davis Hanson criticized Gen. Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, for Milley’s retirement speech in which he blasts “Trump without mentioning Trump.” “As Gen. Milley leaves office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, on his last day he goes out ranting about his loyalty to the Constitution and not to a ‘dictator’ – blasting Trump without mentioning Trump, and thus trumping as it were Trump’s own excesses with those of his own,” Hanson posted on X. “So transits the most politicalized and weaponized 4-star Joint Chiefs of Staff since the office was created.”
  • A November 2021 arrest in Queens, New York led to the discovery of a satanic cult of pedophile extortionists known as 764, which has been linked to significant criminal activity around the globe. The organization, which goes byseveral aliases, was uncovered by the FBI while investigating alarming posts on social media made by 23-year-old Angel Almeida of Astoria, Queens, The Guardian reports. Almeida was flagged to the FBI by an anonymous tipster who was concerned over his social media accounts, which contained images of violence against children and animals. Prosecutors allege Almeida convinced a girl to cut herself, record the act on camera and send it to him. According to the agency, the group is “deliberately targeting minor victims on publicly available messaging platforms to extort them into recording or livestreaming acts of self-harm and producing child sexual abuse material.” Using manipulative tactics, the gang operated on several platforms, including Roblox, Discord, Twitch and SoundCloud – but the group’s main platform has been Telegram. Earlier this month, Almeida was deemed fit for trial despite repeated violent behavior in the courtroom – including attempts to attack a DOJ staffer as well as his own court-appointed counsel, his fourth attorney since his 2021 arrest. His trial is currently scheduled for December 4. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
  • The President may be able to disprove or rebut these points, but they raise legitimate concerns over his role based on the accounts of key figures in the matter. Here are the ten developments that I cited as justifying an impeachment inquiry (a view with which my fellow witness University of North Carolina Professor Michael Gerhardt disagreed):1. Hunter Biden and his associates were running a classic influence peddling operation using Joe Biden as what Devon Archer called “the Brand.” While this was described as an “illusion of access,” millions were generated for the Bidens from some of the most corrupt figures in the world, including associates who were later accused of or convicted of public corruption.2. Some of the Biden clients pushed for changes impacting United States foreign policy and relations, including help in dealing with Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin investigating corruption.[3]3. President Biden has made false claims about his knowledge of these dealings repeatedly in the past, including insisting that he had no knowledge of Hunter’s foreign dealings which Archer has declared “patently false.” The Washington Post and other media outlets have also declared the President’s insistence that his family did not take money from China as false.4. The President had been aware for years that Hunter Biden and his uncle James were accused of influence peddling, including an audiotape of the President acknowledging a New York Times investigation as a threat to Hunter.5. President Biden was repeatedly called into meetings with these foreign clients and was put on speakerphone. He also met these clients and foreign figures at dinners and meetings.6. Emails and other communications show Hunter repeatedly invoking his father to secure payments from foreign sources and, in one such message, he threatens a Chinese figure that his father is sitting next to him to coerce a large transfer of money.7. A trusted FBI source recounted a direct claim of a corrupt Ukrainian businessman that he paid a “bribe” to Joe Biden through intermediaries.8. Hunter Biden reportedly claimed that he had to give half of his earnings to his father] and other emails state that intermingled accounts were used to pay bills for both men, including a possible credit account that Hunter used to allegedly pay prostitutes.9. At least two transfers of funds to Hunter Biden in 2019 from a Chinese source listed the President’s home in Delaware where Hunter sometimes lived and conducted business.10. Some of the deals negotiated by Hunter involved potential benefits for his father, including office space in Washington. At least nine Biden family members reportedly received money from these foreign transfers, including grandchildren. For Hunter Biden, this included not just significant money transfers but gifts like an expensive diamond and a luxury car. These are only some of the serious corruption allegations facing the President, but each could raise impeachable conduct if a nexus is established to the President. ~ Jonathan Turley, law professor at George Washington University
  • As the world stands on the precipice of a dramatic shift, whispered tales of a seismic event have culminated into a potent revelation. The Military’s training for the implementation of the Emergency Broadcast System (EBS) is set to unveil decades, if not centuries, of veiled truths and obscured realities. The countdown to this unveiling is not just the climax of a conspiracy theory; it’s the climax of human history. This is not a mere drill. It’s the dress rehearsal for a grand revelation. The cloak and dagger days are over; the time has come to be in the know, with precision and perfection. Such a monumental event requires an extensive test and review of every occurrence, activity, and implication. The complexity of revealing the truth on a national, let alone global scale, means that we must adhere to protocols and follow the guidelines to the letter. ~ Medeea Greere
  • More than a third of the population of Italy, the Eurozone’s third-largest country, will be over 65 by 2050, up from about a quarter last year, according to data released by the national statistics bureau ISTAT earlier this week. Population decline and ageing are posing major challenges for Italy, leading to an inevitable drop in economic productivity and higher welfare costs, in a country which already has the largest pension bills in the 38-nation Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
  • Efforts to condemn actor Russell Brand and silence him based on unproven rape allegations – made at a time when he’s challenging establishment orthodoxies on such issues as the Ukraine conflict and Covid-19 vaccines – mark a “witch-burning phase” in Western cancel culture, US tech billionaire Elon Musk has warned. “It can’t be guilty until proven innocent because obviously, we’re just sort of in the witch-burning phase here, where just being declared a witch is enough to make you a witch and be burnt,” Musk said on Thursday in an X Spaces interview. “I think this witch-burning instinct might be deep-seated, frankly.” Brand has been at the center of a media firestorm since the UK’s Sunday Times newspaper and Channel 4 TV reported earlier this month that four women had accused him of sexual misconduct, including rape, between 2006 and 2013. He claimed last week that UK government officials had pressured social media companies to censor his commentaries.
  • Developing nuclear weapons has become more than just a key national defense strategy for North Korea. It’s now a constitutionally mandated linchpin of the country’s security apparatus. Pyongyang’s nuclear force-building policy “has been made permanent as the basic law of the state, which no one is allowed to flout with anything,” North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said in a speech on Wednesday at the country’s Supreme People’s Assembly (SPA). State-run media outlet KCNA posted an English translation of the speech on Thursday. The new constitutional provision mandates that Pyongyang “deter war and protect regional and global peace by rapidly developing nuclear weapons to a higher level,” Kim said.
  • Beijing has labeled Washington the “true empire of lies” as it dismissed allegations contained in a new report by the US State Department, which accused China of “global information manipulation.” “Some in the US may think that they can prevail in the information war as long as they produce enough lies. But the people of the world are not blind,” China’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday. It added that “more and more people in the world” are seeing through America’s “ugly attempt to perpetuate its supremacy” with lies. The US has a long history of manipulation and disinformation campaigns, the ministry continued, citing a number of examples spanning from the early Cold War period to the present day. “From Operation Mockingbird, which bribed and manipulated news media for propaganda purposes in the Cold War era, to a vial of white powder and a staged video of the ‘White Helmets’ cited as evidence to wage wars of aggression in Iraq and Syria earlier this century, and then to the enormous lie made up to smear China’s Xinjiang policy, facts have proven time and again that the US is an ‘empire of lies’ through and through,” it stated.
  • China’s space agency has published details about its next journey to the Moon, announcing plans to launch the expedition sometime next year. Dubbed Chang’e-6, the mission would mark Beijing’s second attempt to obtain physical samples from the Earth’s natural satellite. The China National Space Administration (CNSA) took to social media on Friday to preview mission, saying the project was going “as planned” and that the launch would take place in 2024. “The pre-selected landing area for the Chang’e-6 mission is located in the South Pole-Aitken Basin on the far side of the Moon, with a view to discovering and collecting lunar samples from different regions and ages to enhance human understanding of the moon,” the agency said.
  • Messier 87 (M87) is an enormous elliptical galaxy located about 55 million light years from Earth, visible in the constellation Virgo. It was discovered by Charles Messier in 1781, but not identified as a galaxy until 20th Century. At double the mass of our own galaxy, the Milky Way, and containing as many as ten times more stars, it is amongst the largest galaxies in the local universe. Besides its raw size, M87 has some very unique characteristics. For example, it contains an unusually high number of globular clusters: while our Milky Way contains under 200, M87 has about 12,000, which some scientists theorize it collected from its smaller neighbors.
