Hurricane Idalia: Fort Myers Beach floods AGAIN as storm sends ocean surge crashing over low-lying land a year after Ian destroyed town: Tempest sparks TORNADO warnings ~ August 30, 2023

Flooding has hit Fort Myers Beach for the second time in a year as Hurricane Idalia barrels towards Florida.

Shocking footage shows the town submerged as the monster storm moved closer to landfall, which is expected to hit in the early hours of Wednesday.

Streets were flooded and completely devastated by Hurricane Ian less than a year ago, with Fort Myers Beach bearing the brunt of the Category-5 hurricane.

The National Hurricane Center on Tuesday predicted water from Idalia could consume Cedar Keys completely before sweeping up to ten miles inland.

The storm has maximum sustained winds of up to 90mph – just 6mph away from a Category-2 hurricane.

It has also sparked dozens of tornado warnings across the west of the state as Floridians made last-minute preparations ahead of the storm.

States including Florida, Georgia and North Carolina all announce a state of emergency on Tuesday as the tempest prepared to wallop the coastline.

The intensity is expected to reach 125mph by landfall – which is only 5mph below Category Four strength – and hurricane-force winds will extend 15 miles outwards from the center.

Tropical storm-force winds will extend outwards up to 160 miles, with landfall expected in the Big Bend area of Florida near Steinhatchee.

Disney World confirmed that they were still operating under normal conditions as of Tuesday, but added that they were ‘monitoring the path’ of the storm.

The National Hurricane Center has warned that there will be a ‘life-threatening storm surge’ of 10 to 12 feet across Tampa Bay and the Big Bend region of Florida.

Peak levels of the surge are expected to hit between Chassahowitzka and Aucilla River, with residents advised to follow advice from local officials.

Idalia is located 275 miles south-southwest of Tampa, Florida, and is moving northward at 14mph, with the NHC warning that storm surges will be higher than anticipated.

If Tampa Bay is hit with anything above four feet of storm surge and if Cedar Key is battered by more than six feet, then it would set a new record.

  1. Normally…and this is a stretch cuz there ain’t been normal for a long time since before Trump got in and we saw that hurricane go way up into texas the eye of the store…it was bizarre, but of course not natural…we know that.
this storm goes from the gulf now across LAND mass which normally will dispate the storm, and headed out into the ocean?
Ok…so this Idalia hurricane is just in time for the BLUE SUPER MOON and won’t have another one till 2037 and we know the moon and water of course is related….watch for the pandemonium, but maybe also look the other way as to what they don’t want us focusing on.
