I have a personal protection dog German Shepherd – She is 10 this month and I have had her since she was 3. I did not realize how bad my PTSD was until she came because my life was threatened. The first time, she saw me in the bed in an episode, she came over and put her head in by my side and calmed me down. I was by then awake. She also finds illnesses that people do not know they have – did that the first week I had her.
