Common knowledge suggests that progressives love to fearmonger and use fear tactics to foist their agenda on the American public.

But they’re getting desperate, with public trust eroding to unprecedented levels. Democrats’ agenda has begun to slam up against brick walls.

And John Kerry landed in a world of trouble after a watchdog blew the whistle on a grip of stunning violations.

Ethics complaint filed against Kerry

A government watchdog group called Protect the Public’s Trust (PPT) just filed a science ethics complaint against Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry.

The complaint comes after Kerry reportedly spread misinformation about the impacts of climate change on humanity.

According to the group, Kerry violated the federal scientific integrity policy that requires officials to communicate scientific information accurately based on the best available evidence.

In May, Kerry said that greenhouse gas emissions kill a staggering 15 million people every year worldwide.

After the comments were made, PPT requested a federal investigation into the claims.

On May 10, Kerry spoke at the Department of Agriculture’s AIM for Climate Summit, saying, “15 million people are dying every single year around this planet as a consequence of greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere, in the air which travels around and drops in the form of pollution and is warming the ocean at record rates, changing the chemistry of the ocean itself.”

He went on to say that if no action takes place, “millions of lives and the livelihood of the plant is at risk.”

Kerry also added later that another 10 million people die each year globally due to extreme heat.

But, as PPT’s complaint that was sent to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) and the State Department’s Office of the Inspector General, explains that those numbers are an extreme overstatement.

Data released from Lancet Countdown and Climate Vulnerable Forum tell a much different story.

Their numbers were presented during the UN climate summit in November and demonstrated that climate change is expected to cause approximately 3.4 million deaths by the year 2100.

According to their research, these deaths are likely to be a result of increased wildfires, heatwaves and more mosquito-borne diseases.

Another study from Harvard University released in 2021 said fossil fuel emissions are responsible for over 8 million deals annually.

And yet another analysis from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation called the “Global Burden of Disease Study” estimates that 4.2 million people die each year due to outdoor airborne particulate matter pollution.

No scientific evidence cited by Kerry

The PPT complaint states that “Despite the enormity of Mr. Kerry’s claim, he did not cite any scientific evidence for its basis.”

It also said, “Such a blatant misstatement of scientific information to the public is, by its nature, a threat to public trust and good governance. It is made far worse when such misinformation is used to publicly support sweeping policy changes like trying to reach net-zero emissions in agriculture, which would have untold effects upon the economy and lives of the American people writ large.”

The official complaint also said that such action by Kerry “inevitably erodes the public’s trust in its scientific and governing institutions” and causes harm “by reducing science from a great, dispassionate tool of public policy that transcends party lines to yet another political football.”

And while most people will agree with the complaint against Kerry, it’s highly unlikely that anything will come of it under the Biden administration.
