June 7, 2023 – Chinese and Russian bombers both flew together over waters surrounding the Japanese islands, causing the Japanese Self-Defense Force to scramble fighter jets in response, according to the Japanese Ministry of Defense. Read more
June 5, 2023 – Russia reported a “planned flight” over the Barents and Norwegian seas for around five hours. A report by The Barents Observer cited Spokesperson Marius Vågenes Villanger from the Norwegian Armed Forces as saying NATO F-35 fighter aircraft were scrambled between 8:30 and 11:00 Norwegian time to meet “a group of Russian military planes” flying west from the Kola Peninsula.
