Defcon 2: Fast Pace Taken from Defcon Level Warning System

DEFCON 2, or Fast Pace, is a red colored condition level similar to a ‘red alert’ warning level status. Defcon 2 means we are at the next step to war or a nuclear threat. During this alert level the United States Armed Forces are ready and prepared to ship out in 6 hours time or less, hence the name “Fast Pace”.

Defcon 2, or Fast Pace is the second highest condition level in the warning system, with only alert level 1 being higher. The alert status may be changed to this level after intelligence findings indicate a risk for an impending attack, such as the case in the Cuban missile crisis in 1962 when the alert status was changed to Fast Pace for the Strategic Air Command.

Defcon 2, or Fast Pace has been reached only once for the SAC, or strategic air command during the cold war Cuban missile crisis in October 26, 1962 after soviet missile pads were found in Cuba, but changed to alert level 3 after a short time. The defcon levels range from a scale of levels 1 to 5. Defcon levels 1 through 4 indicate an elevated alert status, and 5 indicates a current state of peace or low levels of military readiness.

What are the defcon levels used for? The defcon levels are used to show the Current Overall level status, but each Combatant Command region also uses these condition levels to show the current status of each Region which can be found on the regional News Pages.

April 10, 2023 – Chinese government officials claimed that the PLA Southern Theater Command tracked a United States Navy destroyer USS Milius, saying that it “illegally trespassed” into waters near Meiji Reef (Mischief Reef).

April 9th, 2023 – Israel: The IDF is increasing its forces in Judea and Samaria, and alerts have been activated in Netor, and Avni Eitan, Israel. The IDF is now attacking locations where launches were carried out in Syria.

April 7th, 2023 – IDF spokesperson (translated): The IDF attacked targets of the terrorist organization Hamas in southern Lebanon. Alerts activated in Israeli settlement locations.

April 7th, 2023 – Rockets fired into Israel, mortar fire towards Metula, Israel from Lebanese border. Israel responds with attacks in Gaza Strip.

April 4th, 2023 – US Central Command: “TAMPA, Fla. – U.S. Central Command forces conducted a unilateral strike in Syria today killing Khalid ‘Aydd Ahmad al-Jabouri, an ISIS senior leader. Khalid ‘Aydd Ahmad al-Jabouri was responsible for planning ISIS attacks in Türkiye and Europe and developed the leadership structure for ISIS in Türkiye. R

April 4th, 2023 – US Central Command: TAMPA, Fla. – During the month of March 2023, U.S. Central Command, along with coalition and other partners, conducted a total of 37 D-ISIS operations, resulting in 9 ISIS operatives killed and 18 detained.

April 2nd, 2023 – A newly declassified report on Havana Syndrome by the director of national intelligence has been released that contradicts another recent report saying that it was very unlikely that the illness was caused by an energy weapon.

April 2nd, 2023 – IDF fighter jets and helicopters were launched after an aircraft entered Israeli airspace from Syria. The aircraft was shot down by Israeli aircraft, according to the Israeli military.
