Fred celebrated his 103rd Birthday returning to his home from a short visit to the Malcom Randall Medical Center for a minor tuneup.
Fred has three daughters Judy Summerfield, Norine Gresh and Linda Thompson along with one son Dennis Deep.
Fred lost his wife of 76 years last October 9, and she now rests in the Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell, FL.
So this American Hero retired from his position serving in Commissary management worldwide for the U.S. Air Force and from active duty in 1964.
The Story goes that when Fred met Marion, his first and last date ever! They spent the next 76 years watching over their family and each other. They both served many years in the Veterans Administration in Gainesville, FL.
During his career in the military he achieved the grade of Chief Master Sergeant and was acknowledged with many civilian and military decorations and citations.
He is fortunate to have made his life and living near his wife and children after his careers earned him a lot of free time to enjoy his family. Fred still welcomes everyone who comes to visit and always has coffee and a pastry to offer while visiting. Fred maintains a very extensive and historical chests, displays and boxes containing historical documents and collectables from around the world.
Grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren need only to look through Fred and Marion collections and history will come alive to them.
