(UnitedHeadlines.com) – In a Truth Social video post made by former President Donald Trump March 20, he maintained he is innocent as the legal fight with Alvin Bragg, Manhattan’s district attorney, continues.In the post he referenced the investigation of Trump’s 2016 campaign for possibly colluding with Russia, which ended with the result of no collusion being discovered. He made reference to the raid on Mar-a-Lago in August 2022 when classified documents were discovered, as well as to an investigation into his role in Jan. 6, 2021. Trump also made reference to his 2020 call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.Trump also referred to the Stormy Daniels situation as an “extortion plot.”
In the post Trump said his enemies were doing this because they are looking to stop him, and to look at his poll numbers.The potential charges are from a 2016 payment of hush-money in the amount of $130,000 which was made by Michael Cohen, Trump’s attorney at the time, to Stormy Daniels, who was alleging a 2006 sexual encounter with Trump. The payment was in exchange for her silence on the matter. Trump has said he did not make the payment or have an affair.In 2018, Cohen was sentenced to federal prison for three years after he pled guilty to a violation of federal campaign laws.The decision to indict Trump is being made by a grand jury in Manhattan that has been meeting over the past weeks. Cohen has given testimony to the grand jury.On March 18 Trump made the announcement that an indictment could be handed down soon and that he expected to be arrested.
