CFTC Staff Announces Modifications to the Technical Specification for Parts 43 and 45 | CFTC
Swap data repositories (“SDRs”) are new entities created by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (“Dodd-Frank Act”).
These are set in place to provide a central facility for swap data reporting and record keeping.
As of Friday, banking systems are now able to use the new Unified Payment Interface (UPI) on the QFS for foreign currency swaps.
Two final modifications have been approved and completed. These modifications are the following:
“Implement UPI for credit, equity, foreign exchange, and interest rate asset classes to continue aligning reporting requirements with international standards developed by the CFTC and other global regulators; and
Provide clarity to market participants with respect to compliance obligations.”
Goldilocks: Here we go. Since we have moved into a gold-backed setting since the first of the year, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission will be overseeing these events.
It is time to prepare ourselves for the Old Guard to fall, and the new Quantum Financial System to raise us from the ashes.
