Demonstrators clashed with police as they marched through the streets of Lima demanding Peru’s President Dina Boluarte resign. Riot police fired tear gas to disperse protesters, who claimed they were marching peacefully. Violent rallies have been gripping Peru ever since Boluarte took office in December 2022 after her predecessor Pedro Castillo was ousted for seeking to dissolve the legislature.
