Boris Johnson, timed out
Boris Johnson popped up to speak in the Commons at lunchtime. He asked a question of Grant Shapps, the energy secretary, about Leo modular nuclear reactors. Perhaps he had been goaded by The Independent, which has a clock on the front page of the website, counting down to when he is going to say something about the Windsor agreement.
Ed Miliband, Shapps’s shadow, told Johnson: “It’s important to not want your old job back.”
But the success of Rishi Sunak’s deal means that the clock may have a long time to run. The DUP is going to take its time deciding on its response, and Johnson won’t say anything until it does.
