The House Judiciary Committee chairman corresponded Friday with four Biden administration officials, providing them a final chance to voluntarily cooperate.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) made a final call for information and interviews in his letters to the officials. He warned the recipients that failure to voluntarily cooperate will lead to compulsion by subpoenas from his committee.
Chip Slaven, Nina Jankowicz, Viola Garcia and Jennifer Moore were accused by Jordan of ignoring interview requests, according to a Daily Caller report. He further accused them in his letters of not providing previously requested documents, the report noted.
Slaven was the Interim Executive Director and CEO of the National School Boards Association. Jankowicz was the former leader of the Department of Homeland Security’s ill-fated “Disinformation Governance Board.” Garcia is the Secretary-Treasurer of the National School Boards Association. Moore is the FBI’s Human Resources executive assistant director.
“We have made several requests to you for documents and information relating to the so-called ‘Disinformation Governance Board’ within the Department of Homeland Security and your role as the Board’s Executive Director,” Jordan wrote Jankowicz. “These requests, to include your appearance for a transcribed interview before the Committee, remain outstanding.”
“These documents and your testimony are necessary to further our oversight,” the Ohio Republican continued. “As we begin the 118th Congress, we write again to reiterate our outstanding requests and ask that you immediately comply in full. You have been on notice about our oversight requests — and are aware that the requests are outstanding — for months.”
Jancowicz was considered a shocking choice to lead the poorly-named Disinformation Governance Board after labeling Hunter Biden’s laptop story Russian disinformation in October 2020.
She had previously responded to a Twitter post from Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) about the Steele Dossier used as the basis for the FBI’s baseless “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation.
“Back on the ‘laptop from hell,’ apparently- Biden notes 50 former natsec officials and 5 former CIA heads that believe the laptop is a Russian influence op,” Jancowicz said in a October 22, 2020, Twitter post. “Trump says ‘Russia, Russia, Russia.’”
