The World Bowl
Dear Editor:
It’s easy to imagine that while the World Cup is taking place in real time on the soccer field that there would be a five second delay on televisions at the bars and eateries in and around Qatar. That sounds reasonable.
It would sound equally believable for there to be a five minute time delay for those of us watching the battle outside the region, throughout the rest of the world.
Now, imagine a competitive match so big that it dwarfs the World Cup, Olympic Games both summer and winter plus all the highly contested world championships that currently exist at the same time. Think Superbowl, World Series, NBA Finals, etc.
We can call it The World Bowl. Now, let’s visualize a five year television time delay. So, during the summer of 2023, we will be witnessing on t.v. what actually took place in 2018.
As creative humans we have the ability to imagine this scenario as well as other events that are much greater and bigger in comparison to what we see with our own eyes and ears.
