Blizzard in Texas and New Mexico! Freezing snow blocks the roads! People are panicking! ~ Nov. 30, 2022

Today’s calm weather ends on Saturday morning. In fact, very active weather starts in the morning and continues until the end of the next week with periods of snow, wind and much colder temperatures.

If you have travel plans, please check with your meteorological team frequently for updates as there will likely be multiple winter weather reports released across the state.

The first wave of moisture comes in the evening, which has the greatest impact on travel through the northwest and far western Montana into central Idaho.
The National Weather Service has issued WINTER WEATHER ADVICE when accumulating snow creates difficult or dangerous driving conditions, including I-90 from Missoula to Lookout Pass.

Not much winter weather is expected in southwest Montana with this first snowfall, but light snow is likely to be over all mountain passes in southwest Montana. There may also be some light snow in the lower valleys, with most forecast models showing an inch or less

The next round of snow arrives from Sunday afternoon to Monday. At the end of the weekend, the northern flow will increase at the top. This will pave the way for more snow showers for most of next week and open the door for arctic air to sink south.
