These hurricane warnings are all HYPE…..the weather channels everywhere make a TON of money from continuously broadcasting the alleged horror of a tropical storm (notice how many of them run ads while they’re reporting) and they are seldom as dangerous as the broadcasts report…Nothing but FEAR PORN. This is not to say you should not take some precautions especially if you live near a coast that might be subject to a TIDAL SURGE but for the most part there is little to worry about by those of us who LIVE in FL. Those in the hurricane prone areas know what to do and when. Ignore the Weather Channel’s, endless tales in the past from the Katrinas (to a city that lives below sea level) we have much bigger fish to fry these days. Don’t get distracted from the bigger things to focus on.
