Pentagon: “We gotta be ready” for conflict with Russia… “just in case”
DoD spox John Kirby was pressed on FOX about the so-called “imminent” invasion threat – which has apparently dropped to a maybe, if and but it’s possible as this week has progressed.
“On Monday it seemed like this invasion was inevitable, but now […] even the Ukrainian president says he ‘Does not believe that an invasion is imminent’,” Kirby was asked.
“The Pentagon’s job is to be ready for all contingencies and that’s what we’re doing,” he responded playing down the timeline.

The West has rallied against any “incursion” of Russian forces into Ukraine, here’s what was said Thursday:
▪️President Joe Biden said any troop incursion into Ukraine is “an invasion.”

Amid the saber-rattling, Moscow has time after time denied any plans to invade its neighbor and asked NATO to not deploy troops on Russia’s borders.
