Mercury retrograde is crossing over the Sun at the beginning of Aquarius. We all feel it’s time for a new start, but we seem to be going backwards. Mercury will retrograde back into Capricorn tomorrow. With both Venus and Mercury retrograde in Capricorn this week, things are feeling heavy and full of regret. It feels like we are never getting anywhere.
Mercury will spend the next 2 weeks in conjunction with Pluto, bringing us into the most intense energy of this retrograde season. With three months of our personal planets in conjunction to Pluto, all aspects of our life are breaking down. With double retrograde in Capricorn, it feels like we are eternally stuck in the rubble.
But this energy will change. Venus will turn direct on January 29th, preparing to exit her cave. She will sit at 11 degrees for the last week of January and beginning of February, as she turns. This will put Venus in a lose square with Chiron at 9 degrees Aries, for the next two weeks. This is a powerful time of reflection, with the Venus and Mercury retrograde cycles at their peak drama.
Venus square Chiron will be active through the first week of February, and Mercury will be close to Pluto until the middle of February. Venus is fighting for her life, life force and freedom, journeying into the deepest recesses of the issues of how and why the feminine has been kept in chains by false authority energies, for so long. Mercury retrograde conjunct Pluto is making it feel like our hands are tied.
The New Moon in Aquarius on February 1st will bring a shift of energy and move us over into the Chinese Year of the Water Tiger. The New Moon happens in square to Uranus, ruler of Aquarius, in Taurus. With the North Node of the Moon now in Taurus, it’s bringing the issues of the screwed up materialistic values of humanity, to front and center stage. This is a spiritual evolution, our relationship to physical form and our ideas of what wealth is, must change, if we are ever going to enter the Aquarian Age.
Mars has been crossing over the Galactic Center of Destiny, getting inspired for the next chapter. Now Mars is moving over into the sign of Capricorn, saying that it is time to get to work on the work that we came here to do. That brings a difficult feeling of immobilization, as the old world structures haven’t been able to support us. Retrograde season and all of our personal planets in Capricorn is bringing a heavy feeling of never being able to get anywhere. This is bringing up deep grief and frustration at all of the forces, throughout time, that have worked against positive change.
Help is on the way, as we gradually ease our self out of this mess. A few days after the Aquarius New Moon and Chinese New Year, Mercury will turn direct on February 3rd. Mercury will move back into Aquarius on February 14th. This will bring a nice lightening of energy for Valentine’s Day, as Mercury moves off of it’s conjunction with Pluto. This is when we will be able to see our way out of the cave, the light at the end of the tunnel.
Then things get really sweet. Venus turning direct puts her at a similar pace to Mars, and they journey close together for most of February and March. Mars will be right by Venus’ side, as she faces down Pluto for their final conjunction at the end of February and into March. This brings an energy of unity. When we are together, we are strong, and can face all that challenges our God-given human right of soverignty and autonomy.
Venus and Mars dance together with exact conjunctions, every few days, from Valentine’s day through the first week of March. The Pisces New Moon, on March 2nd, is conjunct Jupiter, bringing a new start to our dream life. Our masculine and feminine planets working in perfect harmony, move together, into the sign of Aquarius on March 6th. This makes March a sweet month of Equinox and rebirth (finally), into the energies of 2022, with powerful alchemy to create positive change.
