Major airline CEOs question need for masks on planes

The heads of American Airlines and Southwest brought up the topic during a hearing on financial support for the hard-hit industry, assessing that they think there’s little masks do to limit the spread of Covid on board.

“I think the case is very strong that masks don’t add much, if anything, in the air cabin environment. It is very safe and very high quality compared to any other indoor setting,” said Southwest CEO Gary Kelly.
