Part of my insatiable obsession for the latest developments stems from escapism after our veterinary visit yesterday. The specialist poked, measured, and palpated Mica for 40 minutes and we decided to do more x-rays as something is worse since our October 7 first diagnosis of hip dysplasia and arthritis. The doctor is afraid she is seeing deterioration of the bone in Mica’s ankle… which I interpret as osteosarcoma, but she didn’t use that term.

She says when you throw the C-word out there you need to be sure so she is running the images by her colleagues and will let us know their opinions. When I did a search on the effects of Quercetin on canine bone cancer it said osteosarcoma is linked to metastasis to the lungs. She told us to increase the pain killers as we are in the lower register for dosage and we will talk soon.

I can’t imagine doing chemo and radiation again for our dog—or amputation, either. If her diagnosis is correct I need HCQ and Ivermectin but have Quercetin on hand so started him on that. I read good things about Quercetin and Curcumin and the synergistic effect when used together as they block the mitochondria membrane potential of the cancer cells leading to apoptosis—a good thing. I hope this is a false alarm, but there doesn’t seem to be any other explanation for his extreme lameness and I can’t help but look into canine oncology… again… after all these years.
