Matthew 12:33-37
(Jesus speaking to the Pharisees)
“Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or
make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree
is recognized by its fruit. You brood of vipers,
how can you who are evil say anything good? For
out of the overflow of the heart the mouth
speaks. The good man brings good things out of
the good stored up in him, and the evil man
brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.
But I tell you that men will have to give account
on the day of judgement for every careless word
they have spoken. For by your words you will
be acquitted, and by your words you will becondemned.”

Psalm 34:11:14
“Come, my children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
Whoever of you loves life
and desires to see many good days,
keep your tongues from evil
and your lips from speaking lies.
Turn from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it.”

Matthew 22:34-40
“Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees,
the Pharisees got together. One of them, an
expert in the law, tested Him with this question:
‘Teacher, which is the greatest commandment
in the Law?’
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Jesus replied, ‘Love the Lord your God with all
your heart and with all your soul and with all
your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love
your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the
Prophets hang on these two commandments.’”
