Yes, one of my favorite spiritual bloggers wants us to ask ourselves a question…why can’t we love ourselves more and accept ourselves for who we are? What prevents us from “letting go” of the illusions and pretense we all carry with us about ourselves?
For me, I guess the answer is tied into a subliminal “fight or flight” kind of scenario. Life has shown me that I cannot trust others, not even my own Mother, to understand where I AM at this moment and that leads me into the realization that until I can trust myself, I can expect no others to join me as trusting souls that I can rely on.
So…perhaps love and trust are indelibly tied together. How can you love another unless you trust them? How can you trust someone you do not love? Which brings us back full cicle to loving and trusting yourself!
