The war for Earth is fought on many levels; many dimensions, physical, mental, spiritual, emotional.
It has to come out some time. Off-world technology is old news, though.
If, however, we understand that something doesn’t have to be real to have a real and profound effect, a “fake alien invasion” would be equally as devastating to a deaf, dumb and blind population as a real one. We understand that scenario will not unfold.
One day in the not too distant future, however, the space-age technologies will be revealed and Humanity will take to the stars en masse as the space-faring people they were meant to be.
Until then, we have some growing up to do.
